Well, we're almost done with the category cleanup, so I'd like to hear some suggestions. Basically I'd like to discuss some category renamings and mergings.
Gaoler. Seriously recommend this be re-labeled. It is an esoteric and outdated term which most people have little inkling about without visiting the cat page for the definition.
NerdWithAKeyboard wrote: Understandable. I'm just concerned about visitor confusion. In RWBY's case, most of the powers are not magic (more of a spiritual science), but magic does officially exist and is utilized by certain characters. However, because they all have powers, they would all fall under "Magic", even if they don't (officially) weild it?
Drop a man from the 14th century into Modern NYC, what would he think of all the marvels to be found? Upon his *return home*, how would he explain it all, even if he was told *and understood the concepts* of how the Wonders Work? Which to *us* are not magic.
We are dropped into the World of Remnant. We see wonderous things. So on this wikia, our home, how do we explain the wonders we see on RWBY?
Another analogy: go to a supermarket and ask for something. You get directed to an aisle. Once there you have to look for the specific product you want.
Well, in-depth specifics are in the Articles but categories only need to be "Aisle Markers".
Perfect analogy. I just realized too that the "Magic" category page says that it includes Alchemny and Magi-Tech (I must have been to that page a thousand times and somehow never saw it). I was just worried that someone would come along and be like: "THAT'S NOT MAGIC THEY'RE USING!" and start messing with categories, and wanted to ask if we had an understanding before tht happened. Thanks for replying so quickly. Also, I'm sure that "Science Fantasy Villains" will help too.
Ok, Because you're removing "villains" from categories to reduce redundancies, there are some ideas;
I don't remember there being an agreement on "Knighted (I know that I certainly didn't agree with it)." But other than that, I'm fine with the rest.
We should take a break with merging, to be honest.
Not really. When a villain is comedic, it means that they're being funny, while comedy would imply that the entire work is supposed to be taken for laughs. I would think that merging Comic Relef into Comedic Villains would be good.
What do you think?
