Theology Villainy

due to the vast nature of our reality we forget that theology is, regardless of personal opinions, based on real-world religions and we're meant to focus on fictional characters.. thus I believe we should remove theology-basec villains such as God, Satan and Biblical figures.

I dare say even the older religious figures, such as Ancient Greek gods - while not active religions some still worship these entities and more importantly theology, like religion, has no "canon" by which to set a standards.. unlike fiction we can't honestly say any being in theology is a villain without some other faith dictating the opposite (for example the Christian God is seen as benevolent to most, yet certain faiths see Him as evil.. same as the Devil, while universally hated in Christiandom, is revered by theological Satanism as a savior figure.. and so on indefinitely).

cultural myths and beliefs should not be simplified to black and white "villains" and "heroes", especially when we have countless fictional portrayals of these entities which have established backstories and roles.. a theistic Satanist could argue the Biblical Satan is a savior but they could not do the same for a fictional take on Satan from, let's say, a horror movie, where that depiction of Satan has been established without doubt as an evil entity in-universe.

basically, I think we should remove theology and focus on fiction - because it is paradoxal to ban real-life figures yet allow takes on gods and deities from real-world faiths, whether you believe or not you are treating the faiths of present and past cultures as if they were fictional beings from comics, movies and video-games.. which is absurd when there is already many in-universe examples you could use instead (we don't need Zeus from the real-world, if you want an evil depiction of Zeus go to God of War).

TLDR: real-world figures should not be on this wiki, so why do we allow real-world figures of theology? some cultures believe in these figures as fact and even cultures that no longer believe in certain faiths were once "real" and we should respect that.. we have fictional portrayals of gods and demons and biblical fiends.. let the real-world versions go elsewhere.

Okay, would we get rid of Hades then, and Zeus, and Loki. Are we animal farm here. "All religions are equal but some are more equal than others." This is a pretty serious precedent. How would we address characters like Lilith, who was a cannon figure of religious dogma... until that story was edited out because it made god look a tad misogynistic.

I do realized how much of a headache this causes but these are all somewhat serious stances to take.

We are taking stances that

"The Bible is real",

"Modern religions count but ancient or less popular ones don't",

"Whatever the Church says is cannon can not be touched but everything else is now considered false and fair game".

If that is how it is, that is how it is, but at the very least this should be addressed.

where thoses are no loger active i think should stay, the ones who are still study to this day should be taken off. i say Lilith should stay do to no loger be treated real.

Also, "according to Luke", "according to John", those are not angels or even prophets, they were writers contracted by the Vatican to write stories. Anything that can be re-edited or dropped is not a real accounting. Again, the events described may be real, I wasn't around 6,000 years ago, none of us were but the Bible is an edited, credited adaptation of older accounts. Heck is the Old Testament true but the Torah false cause the Vatican says so?

Geological surveys have found that the 10 plagues of Egypt actually happened - a volcano erupted off the coast of Egypt, which would have created water discoloration, blot out the sun and create all sorts of migration pattern changes (fascinating right?). Now maybe God made that volcano erupt, maybe Moses received an advanced enough education to predict the environmental events and used them as a prop for getting the Jews out of Egypt, maybe he never existed at all, I take no stance on this, but that does not make 1956's Ten Commandments or Prince of Egypt real. And sorry the Bible is as much an adaptation on older stories as those are, we can prove this it is not a matter of opinion.
