So...with the Creepypasta ''Sally, Play With Me," I personally push towards removing Sally's page from the wiki. Now, the problem isn't so much that she isn't well-known enough; quite the contrary. She would be up there with Slender Man, Jeff the Killer, Eyeless Jack and all those other edgy attempts at horror. My issue has to do with the story.
For those who may not know it, Sally was originally a normal young girl who was molested by her uncle (surprise, surprise) when he visited. He threatened that he would do worse to her if she were to tell anyone about what he had done to her, and of course, she does try to explain the situation to her mother, but the stupid fool thought she was just having a nightmare. Her uncle of course found out about her betrayal and took her to an isolated area where he raped and killed her. Since then, she had become a vengeful spirit who killed others who she thought were the reason for her pain, or some garbage like that.
I get that as a horror story, it tries to incite some kind of dread from the reader. My issue with that...it takes something as horrible as rape, and exploits it just for the sake of trying to be edgy. This was just like what happened with other works like Clockwork: Your Time is Up where pre-Clockwork for no reason whatsoever got raped by her brother of all people. The story of Sally I admit does infuriate me because of the disgusting decisions the writer had made in order to make this crapfest, but the fact that he or she uses such hot button topics like rape for no reason than to shock the reader is revolting. If the story was just about Sally getting murdered by her uncle and rewritten to exclude the rape, you would get the same result.
While I'm fine with characters like Ticci Tobey, Eyeless Jack, and of course Jeff the Killer staying, any Creepypasta that involves something like rape such as in the context of Sally Play with Me, has no right to be on this wiki. We had already taken down characters like Pinkamena, Sweet Apple Massacre!Macintosh, and that brute of a mother from the Dating Game Creepypasta down for being deliberate works or exploitative for the sake of exploitative, so why not Sally?
