After my proposal of taking down the character page of Ticci-Toby for the reason of fan fiction was brought to an end, I had conversed with Jester of chaos about how it is allowed and how the JTK 2015 remake isn’t, as it got taken down many months ago by Magma MK-II for the reason of being “fan fiction”, even though it meets more original content than Ticci-Toby did. In the end of our discussion, he recommended I open a thread about this to see what the community thinks and possibly point out the differences between the original JTK story and the 2015 remake by K. Banning Kellum.
Since I’m letting the whole Ticci-Toby being taken down for fan fiction idea die out since it has enough popularity to meet original web content, I thought it would be necessary to bring back the discussion of bringing back this page after having discussed the matter with Jester, since the JTK remake tends to meet original web content more than Ticci-Toby does.
While as we know, yes, Jeff the Killer hasn’t exactly been the most likeable character lately due to his crappy reputation of being an extremely bad story (which is one of the many reasons as to why it got taken down and was given a remake), I think it would still be necessary to create a page for the remake’s version on this wiki as it makes a big difference for the character and has spawned into its own content, it is becoming very well-known across the Creepypasta community and I think it deserves its own separate page on the villains wiki despite the reputation it has garnered for being a remake of a well-hated character.
So to plot some of the differences for those who haven’t read it yet or aren’t keeping up to date with it, I’ll tell you here; for one, Jeff’s disfigurement is very different, in the original he gets lit on fire after being drenched in bleach and alcohol, and after which, he goes insane and carves a Glasgow smile up to his cheeks and burns out his eyelids, but in the remake, he accidentally gets shot in the face with a flare gun that disfigures the entire left side of his face and blinding his eye. In the original, Jeff kills his brother for absolutely no reason other than out of (possibly) bloodlust despite how much those two got along in the events of story, in the remake however, he lets his brother live and even spares him the truth about murdering his own parents, and it makes sense for him to do that since his brother was the only one in the story who acts friendly to him.
The most important difference is that the original story just ends there, that’s it, it was so bad that it took the fanbase to continue it off with creating their own stories such as JTK part 2, JTK is back, JTK vs Slenderman, JTK vs Jane the Killer, and many many more. Whereas with the remake, Kellum is continuing the series to this day, you can read them on the spinpasta wiki or you can even listen to MrCreepyPasta narrate them, and they are coming out great with a branch of new characters that you can relate to, and even some characters from Kellum’s Hyraaq Tobit series make an appearance in the sequels. I could go on and on about so many differences the remake has to the original that makes its own original content, but this discussion isn’t about listing the differences entirely, so I don’t want to fill it up with that.
I know some might argue that it is fan fiction or may not meet the qualifications of being original web content, but to correct you, it is not fan fiction since Kellum set it to be in a different universe than the original. Let’s put it like this; If a Creepypasta focuses on an already existing story (like how Cupcakes focuses on MLP), then it's a creepy fan fiction. But if it's its own story, it's a full blown Creepypasta. With the exception of using the same names for the main characters, it carries off of nothing from the original Creepypasta.
It’s been spawned into its own separate story by introducing new characters that didn’t even appear in the original and has altogether created a new personality for the ones that did appear in the original. Not only that, (as I said before) the remake it still going, you can read the sequels on the spinpasta wiki. Kellum even integrated the remake with his Hyraaq Tobit series, a popular Creepypasta series that reached the spotlight on the Creepypasta wiki in 2015, and as we know it is original content as it already has character pages on this wikia and have been here for 4 years. Furthermore, if the remake was fan fiction the Creepypasta wiki would have taken it down by now for that very reason, yet it still remains on there to this day.
And if you disagree that it isn’t fan fiction and put that as the sole reason why it shouldn’t be on here, then are we not going to argue that this wikia has pages for Ticci-Toby and Jane the Killer? Which if you’ve paid attention to, you should know that they have an origin of being a creation from fan fiction, Jane was made by a DeviantArt user one year after the original Jeff the Killer story got out and she did not even have an actual full story (except for that one made by a fan that plagiarises her character, the one where we know her as “Arkensaw”), and Ticci-Toby was altogether developed by a fan of Slender Man and has even abandoned the character entirely. The only reason they have been allowed on this wiki is because of their popularity, and if that is the case, the remake should have no problem having a page on here as well.
I'll leave this to be further discussed below, if you have any objections to this or think it would indeed be necessary to create a page for this still ongoing character, then let everyone know below.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope this matter can be finally solved.
