You may find this to be an odd discussion but this isn't exactly a removal proposal of the Pure Evil category. Rather, this is more so what your thoughts on Black Manta being pure evil.

The reason I bring up Black Manta here is because of how his story's been rewritten so many times that it's hard to exactly determine if he's pure evil or not. Before the New 52 reboot, he was given a story where he was an autistic boy that loved the sea. He was then kidnapped and tortured on a ship where he was doing forced labour. Aquaman never saved him, even though he saw him so he decided to fight for himself and ever since then, he's grown a hatred for the seas. In the New 52 reboot, he and his father were treasure hunters that explored an Atlantean kingdom in search of a pearl. His father was later killed by Aquaman because he thought Black Manta killed his father and ever since then, Black Manta has grown a strong hatred for the king of Atlantis. On the one hand, you can look at this and probably say he's a bit of a tragic character.

On the other hand, Black Manta has done some pretty heinous and psychopathic stuff that makes look pretty damn cruel and sadistic. He's gone out of his way to put Aquaman's life in despair. He killed his son at one point, which resulted in the separation between him and his wife then later on. He then retired and worked in a fish market at some point because he thought Aquaman died, but when he found out he was alive, he immediately murdered everyone in the market and went back on his hunt for him.

Overall, I'm not sure. What your thoughts? You think he's fine where he's at or he should be removed from the category?
