Been a while since I’ve asked curious questions. This won’t be the last time either I assume.
1. This is more of a personal question for person to person: who’s the most heinous incompetent villain you can think of? And not necessarily a villain of the incompetent archetype, but someone ACTUALLY considered incompetent and is under the category.
2. What exactly defines an amoral villain in specific scenarios? I mean, obviously if it’s a predator or monster who’s mind just says “kill kill kill” or it’s a robot following a program, villains by proxy, being of evil who doesn’t know good, etc etc. But there are instances that I’m not 100% certain of amoral, such as Mark Hoffman from Saw and people mention that sadists manage to get considered amoral. And I know for a fact that this is simply an oversight and will be fixed in the near future, but Ga’ran (whatever her name is) from Ace Attorney is both under Pure Evil and Amoral. It’s obvious that the PE category overrides this, but this also means that apparently someone thought that she was amoral and put her under the category for that reason. So yeah, how do you define in that scenario?
3. I remember asking something about PE villains, specifically if it were a villain who was genocidal towards creatures like lobsters or ants if they qualified for PE. Let me elaborate: let’s say that there’s a sociopath with no redeeming qualities or tragic backstory that likes to torture ants and lobsters to death (and is aware of what he is doing) because they’re easier to torture and kill than humans, and I wonder if he qualifies for PE. It’s obvious that if the ants and lobsters were sentient and he was aware, then yes, he’d be Pure Evil. But WHAT IF the ants and lobsters WEREN’T sentient but he THOUGHT that they were sentient/imagined that they were sentient. Is he still Pure Evil?
