<p>This is my second attempt at removing as I personally don't think Hidan has any business being on the category. </p><p>
</p><p>Hidan's actions aren't unique and are somewhat shared with Kakuzu. Hidan and Kakuzu together defeat Yugito, kill a bunch of mooks in a temple, torture and kill Asuma, and try to kill Shikamaru. Both of the former two Hidan did with Kakuzu's assistance. </p><p>

</p><p>Naruto has a very, very high heinous standard with nearly every major villain having uber large bodycounts. Pain kills a whole country worth of people, Tobi/Obito starts a world war that kills thousands of people, Kabuto commits mass necromancy forcing the dead to fight their loved ones to the death, Orochimaru performs fatal experiments on babies. </p><p>

</p><p>The resource argument also doesn't work as villains with just as much power, if not less have really large bodycounts. Zabuza as a kid slaughtered about a hundred kids, Sasori is a Serial Killer who converts his victims bodies into puppets, etc. Torture also isn't at all unique. Itachi tortures people, Orochimaru tortures people, Gato tortures people, Danzo tortures people.</p><p>

</p><p>Hidan is also kind of comedic. Some of his lines and his reaction to Asuma slicing his head off is comedy gold.</p><p>

Keep. If you already brought him up once before, why bother doing it again? Im sorry but it just wastes peoples times bringing up an already concluded candidate more than once.
This is why we need that list I was talking about.
Allaround he makes the most with his resources, and Naruto doesn’t have too high standards to prevent Hidan from qualifying.

<p>On removal proposals, I say "no" for keep and "yes" for cut. From what it sounds like, Hidan could have been worse, but he's still horrible, and he seems to do enough with his resources.</p>

Personally I dont think candidates should be brought up more than once, UNLESS some actual new points are being brought up (that wasn’t discussed before) in the recent discussion about said candidates (e.g Roger). (Or in some cases for TV-Show villains that a new season is being released.) An user’s personal opinions on the character is not a reason for bringing said candidate more than once. But some may disagree with me on that which I can respect.</p><p>

I personally say cut, others including one of the first thus presumably weaker had a body count of over 100, the terrorist organization was full of cold blooded killers and frankly an extremely high heinous standard. Hidan in another work would be an easy keep but for Naruto not so much. The only thing in his favor is low tier but as mentioned so was one of the earliest villains with over 100 kills shown in flashback, Hidan may have been a little more personal for killing a somewhat popular character that was a mentor for a secondary hero/character but I don't personally feel that's enough to truly justify it.

<p>Having voted in the original, I’m inclined to give an incredibly weak “cut.”</p><p>This is just me, and I’ll probably be refuted to heck over saying this but I’m not really into the “already discussed” vibe that people are claiming this to be. Sure, it was discussed before, I won’t argue against that but it was only once and not nearly as much as other villains such as Ernesto de la Cruz, or Light Yagami. I don’t feel like enough people gave their thoughts previously (kind of like how Looper reproposed Rowan North from the new Ghostbusters) but I don’t have control over other people’s thoughts, so I won’t actively fight back against that if that’s the general feeling among most people.</p><p>

</p><p>With Hidan, he isn't any worse than the rest of the Akatsuki which consists of traitors, mass murderers, etc. Another problem is that we don't see any scenes, clips, or panels of the mass murder that Hidan carried out -- it's all word of mouth. At least with Zabuza there were scenes to show what he did (although he isn't a part of Akatsuki).</p><p>

What makes him especially sadistic is how he prolongs torturing his victims like Asuma. But, that is almost no different from Itachi who tortured Kakashi and Sasuke with the Tsukyomi illusion technique -- though it only lasts for a few seconds in real time they were subjected to torture for what seems like a day to a few days in the illusion. Though Itachi isn't sadistic like what Hidan is, he still prolonged torturing his victims.</p><p>

A simple torture before murder is nothing new chronologically in the franchise.</p><p>
