I have no doubt that it's a legitimate question, but there really is no other answer than "depends" because villains are very variable in how redeemable they are. Some are rotten to the core while others barely qualify as villains at all. It all depends on the individual villain's actions and intentions.

Yeah. If you're a bank robber but never hurt anyone and is just after profit I think you ahould have a second chance. If you abuse your kids or commit murder or anything like that you dont deserve to live.

Depends on the villain - on one end of the spectrum you have sad villains who never had much of a choice, like Crona Gorgon or Lucy from Elfen Lied. On the other hand, there are villains like Prime Minister Honest or Malty S. Melromarc whom are utterly despicable and with zero redeeming qualities.
