What was your post?
It was a poll on whether or not he's actually tragic.
Well that isn’t debatable, pretty sure he’s tragic
I'm not sure he's actually tragic since while him being abandoned by Disney (Not like the creepypasta of the same name) is played with sympathy at first, towards the end of the film when Chip and Dale try to talk him out of bootlegging toons, he sarcastically tells them their bad actors and continues to be evil.
That doesn’t make his origin any less tragic. he went through some genuine tough stuff and your saying he isn’t tragic because he doesn’t like his enemy.
I'm not saying he isn't tragic because doesn't like his enemy, Because if that was the case I would say Rex Dangervest isn't tragic because he hates his friends. I'm saying he seems to subverts his tragedy because he rejected any help at a better life (like Lotso) and by extension his actions seem too heinous and are akin to that of human trafficking.
And I don’t understand how that nullifies his tragedy. I’m leaving this argument before it gets heated, but wasn’t Rex’s tragedy played for laughs?
Ugh no Rex's past isn't. Though you bring up a fair point that we need to stop before this argument turns into a flame war, so I'll just leave at that.
....... Are you saying he isn't tragic because he's too heinous? ...... Heinousness. Does not. Affect. Sympathy. Sympathy affects sympathy.
What do you think?
