The very first time I saw the scene with Monty and his dad, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t BRIEFLY feel sad when his dad spat in his face. Of course, I no longer do since all his crimes far outweighs that moment.
I haven't seen the show but based on the scenes of his backstory and mirror scenes, as well as a rap music made a few days ago about Homelander, I think he was meant to be played as a tragic character, but this is just my opinion.
