Jason is an delusional idiot but if the show was told from his point of view. He’d look like the hero protecting his town from satanic serial killers. You can’t lie, that situation with Lucas and Max DID look really suspicious.
@Romeo and Robot Yeah, Its not so surprising he didn't want to listen to him after that and other proofs against them, Jason may have been stubborn but the situation didn't help.
He was infuriatingly short sighted. The most annoying character in S4. More so than Angela believe it or not.
Edit: talking about Sullivan not Jason
Well, Angela was the most hateable but at least she wasn't so dimwit.
Jason is kind of meant to deconstruct the “heroes” from teen dramas like Riverdale and 13 Reasons Why, showing what would actually happen if some idiot teenager tried to get involved in a murder mystery that they legitimately don’t understand, which just results in even more chaos. It’s especially noticeable because Powell and Callahan actually try to do their jobs in season 4 (they obviously didn’t get very far, but they tried to remain professional and keep people calm), but Jason makes it much harder than it needed to be.
Ironically, Jason being portrayed as a villain makes him more sympathetic than the characters from those other shows, because at least we know that we shouldn’t root for him and we see his mental decline. It’s crazy that a show about aliens, alternate dimensions, and supernatural powers is more realistic than a “drama” about mental illness and suicide (hard to stay mad at Riverdale when the writers clearly just went off the rails).
@Fower42 Jason was a good -written characters, not as anyone of other shows (I'm looking you Hannah and Clay).
Like I myself will admit it’s easier to probably believe in satanism than an alternate dimension wizard lol.
I forgot about that guy, didn't get much screen time. But yeah he was way worse than Jason and his reasoning was just plain dumb. Jason at least has the excuse of that whole Satanic Panic thing going on in the 80's
Is this Amin Dada?
What do you think?
