Yeah him.
I wish MODOK was an option :(
"Mass murder, genocide and other such atrocities are perfectly fine as long as you say you're sorry"
Honestly, SU would've been a much better show if White Diamond were a pure evil villain and Steven's "no killing, without exception" code of ethics were challenged by someone who can't be reached or redeemed.
@FanGworl darth vader and flowey also did similar things and people are totaly ok with their redemptions
Darth Vader was manipulated and taken advantage of by Space Hitler and Flowey was literally a soulless husk with only ambition and curiosity keeping him alive.
There are right and wrong ways to do villain redemptions. "I'm sorry for all that genocide, but we can put that behind us" isn't that way.
Comparing Darth Vader and Flowey to White Diamond is pretty bad imo. Both of those two are shown to have redeemable and sympathetic qualities before their redemption, White Diamond on the other hand I don't think she had anything like that before her redemption.
Vandal Savage's moment was from one scene... Played off as a joke, they redeem him for no reason other than a one scene joke. Which is stupid, like really stupid, imagine a villain killing women and children for shits and giggles who gets to jail and a few episodes later shown to have turned a new leaf for a 5 second joke scene.
One episode, one scene, and that's where he shows up and gets redeemed. One of the most annoying, and bizarre redemptions I've ever seen in my life which is so stupid to me. Especially considering how depraved and sadistic he is throughout the Arrowverse.
While not everyone likes redemptions it still great that they did because redeeming is 200% better then hero side fallen to villain all the way but sorry just want to be helpful and not want to be a protesting because, I like to help people in anyway, I can that's my code of honour and part of me being human it makes me feel light and noble 100% indeed yeah!
White Diamond, because her redemption just came out of nowhere with no build up or foreshadowing to it, while the show also treats her insecurities as excusable for her atrocities when they aren’t, and her literally receiving zero punishment for her crimes. Hence why I absolutely hate Steven Universe because the show just needlessly redeems every villain apart from one shots that contribute nothing to the overall storyline of the show, Rebecca Sugar should’ve put far more effort into developing her villains and not redeeming every single one as part of a ‘everyone can be redeemed’ message, which I’m sorry to say is far from the truth. I mean look at Bill Cipher, The Core, Belos, and Darth Sidious.
Blame the studio, from what I've heard Rebecca apparently wanted the season to be longer so there would be build up for White Diamond. But the execs or something just cut the season short.
Honestly Vandal Savage was even less than White imo. Like no build up, no foreshadowing, just came out of no where for five minutes to reveal he's no longer evil just for a mere played for laughs moment.
What do you think?
