Have a good day or evening everyone. This post might upset a lot of people and make me a lot of enemies, but maybe a few people will be very happy about it. Lately, I've seen Bill Cipher more and more often, that he's always in the polls, he always wins, he's the favorite, as if he's an absolutely invincible, ultimate, perfect villain, no one defeat him. Still, some of the comments made me think. Some people are tired of being everywhere all the time, but at the same time, this number has increased. It didn't bother me, but I was more and more curious about who is this Bill Chiper and why he is so strong, why he is so winning, so I decided to watch Gravity Falls (by the way, I liked it, there are very good and educational parts in it). I read the following in the character description: nigh-omnipotence, genius-level intelligence, alternate universe travel. I have dealt with and read about really powerful villains and when I see such incredible levels of power, I always smile and honestly wonder if the given character is really that powerful or if it is too overrated. I decided to put Bill under analysis and in a later plan I'm going to put him together with really heavy weight, extremely powerful villains, lesser known and of course mainstream ones. So I watched Gravity Falls and the fact is that Bill is not invincible and not so powerful, in fact he has a weakness, not a few. There are times where I will be a bit sarcastic or humorous, but I don't think it will really bother anyone. There will also be comments and other things, some of which are unfortunately really a problem about him. Here are the things I noticed and honestly I don't want to offend anyone, fans of the character will probably hate me, but it's time to break the nimbus of invincibility a little. Here I will be the one who drags the reader from fantasy to reality.
Season 1 episode 19
- Not knowing the combination to Stanford's safe, he instead obtains it by following the guys and listening to Stanford say the combination out loud. Interesting, an omnipotent being shouldn't have a problem cracking a safe or lockpick, right?
- The genius, omnipotent Bill Cipher cannot remember the combination, but reads it from the door and after it is shot out of his hand and falls into the bottomless pit, he is unable to recite the missing numbers. Alas, the dream demon's memory is not exactly perfect, but then anyone can make mistakes, right?
- A similar situation as on of the episodes of A Nightmare on Elm Street. The characters on the good side realize that they too have abilities in the dreams and can easily change the balance of power, so Bill's omnipotence can also be eliminated.
Season 2 episode 4
- He arrogantly mocks that he was not defeated, while he was very scared in that particular episode, when the lightning vortex that almost swallowed him was created with everyone's collective willpower. Sometimes face and big mouth is greater than actual power.
- He asks a puppet for the "secret of the universe", but for some reason he couldn't remember the combination of an interesting safe.
- Look, kid, you've been getting way too close to figuring out some major answers. I've got big plans coming and I don't need you getting in my way. It is interesting that a child is a potential threat to a demon who is, in principle, "omnipotent." Or maybe he saw his own doom, which Dipper will cause?
- It is interesting that he "in principle" sees the future and „knows lots of things”, but not where the body he possessed hid his diary.
- „I am a being of pure energy with no weakness.” An interesting statement from someone who was almost annihilated on the battlefield of his own dream and now he was unable to defeat a young girl, but he won the fight with the "deadly tickle".
-If Bill takes over someone's body, he will also be subject to the limitations of the human body, such as exhaustion, sleeplessness, and mosquito bites.
- The non-three-dimensional Bill Cipher doesn't seem to really like explosives, as he disappears upon detonation while saying: „You can't stop me.”
Season 2 episode 15
- The only way the omnipotent Bill Chipper can come back is by making deals with others. What a "successful" businessman
Weirdmageddon
-He admits that his passage would not have been possible without Stanford. Interestingly, for an omnipotent being, traveling between dimensions seems to be quite difficult.
- He haughtily taunts Dipper to do something brilliant to stop him. It's very simple, let's give him a safe for which he has to guess the combination, maybe repeat the memorable "dream defeat."
- "Knows lots of things" Bill Cipher forgets that one of his followers has eighty-eight faces, not eighty-seven. Well, even the omnipotent beign sometimes forget, how „know lots of thing.”
- Bill thinks the all the people have lost their minds. It's interesting, because an all-knowing, omnipotent being should know how many of his enemies still have consciousness if he's so sure of his victory, but it could just be his usual pride, which in turn tempts him down the path of stupidity.
- „All right, boys, to the corners of the Earth.” Bill, who "know lots of thing" seems to have missed over the years that the Earth can't really have corners.
- Bill, who „knows a lot of things”, didn't see that they were surrounded by an energy barrier that they couldn't get out of. If he is so omnipotent and powerful, why can't he destroy it with just his "pure energy"? There are villains for whom or what this does not cause a problem, is this a problem only for him?
- Mabel's bubble is the most diabolical trap I've ever created. Big words, rather just a simple, mini fantasy world, from which it was not so difficult to escape, since Dipper realized quite quickly that it was a trap, and he freed Mabel with very logical and beautiful reasoning. Reality seems to defeat the trap of the omnipotent’s „most diabolical trap.”
- Bill Chiper is so careful about security in his castle that a female reporter gets in there, who can give information to the survivors in a live broadcast. Instead, he prefers to play the piano for Stanford.
- „I've recently had a multi-dimensional makeover! I control space and matter, and now that that dumb baby's out of the way, time itself! But I wasn't always this way.” It is interesting that he only managed to do this in that one suite and once before, and this may be a hint that dear Bill was not so omnipotent even in his dreams.
- „There's just one hitch. As it turns out, my weirdness can't escape the magical confines of this town!” Apparently an omnipotent being can't penetrate a magical barrier, even though he can teleport, and with such energy, why is this a problem for him?
- And did you find a way to undo it?- Of course! There's a simple equation that could collapse the barrier. Ouch, so such an all-powerful, omnipotent, "genius" being is actually one equation away from world domination. Uh… yeah.
- Anything will be possible! I feel like it was just a lie and a manipulation, but if you meant it, it was worth a suicide, Bill, because it would also make it possible for you to perish. But after all, this is not so surprising, since he has already admitted that he is insane.
- But have it your way. I'll just fish around and get that equation directly out of your mind! Ah, good old haughtyness. This should have been done a long time ago, Bill, and there is no excuse, since he was in his head for a long time and the "host body" solved countless equations.
- Security in Bill's "castle" isn't exactly top notch when a t-rex arm breaks through the wall and no one does anything.
- Aaah, my eye! You have any idea how long it takes to regenerate that? It seems that the regeneration time of an omnipotent being takes quite a long time, even though heroes and villains much weaker than him can heal eye damage in seconds. More power, less health?
- Bill asks Gideon why he isn't dancing. If he knows so much, he should remember that he was under magical compulsion, so since he doesn't dance, the compulsion has stopped. It seems that memory and the preservation of memories are not exactly Bill's strengths.
- Bill's pyrokinesis fire wave is so strong that only a few plumes of flame will appear in people's hair. I think many people have seen much more brutal infernos, especially from demons. Or does this mean that Bill is weakened after his eyes are ripped out and the circle is drawn?
- I see everything! It's very good, but unfortunately a graffiti got into his eye. He see everything, but for some reason he didn't see this.
- Bill takes on his final form, implying that he will be even stronger now, but he won't show much and this form won't last long either. It looked good, but unfortunately that was it.
- Bill, who „knows a lot of things” is tricked by a simple change of clothes, even though he "sees everything."
That would have been it if you didn't agree or were angry about it, I completely understand, but please read what I wrote before writing your review. If you like what I did, I would say what Stan Pines said: "Huh, guess I was good for something after all."
