True can't deny how bad friend he is why would he blame Puss and got mad after he was imprisoned from jail and become a criminal plus it was his entire fault. Somehow the movie kinda forgets about it I feel this is the reason why they missed the point on Humpty's character and they quickly rushed make him sympathetic character I find it's so stupid because in the movie he's shown after all these years he still haven't change and redeemed from crime the way he turned into Golden EGG is BS for me. I agree with you if they could rewrite his character or giving him plenty of screentime I could sympathizes with him
What If Boss Baby villains? Have you watched both movies yet?
No I haven't.
Oh yeah about the new Wild Robot movie what's your opinion on Vontra?
I think she was decent. Her design was cool and she provided an action packed climax but her comically evil personality felt contrived. She also doesn't show up until the final act. I think it would have been better if she was sent to the island at some time and we see glimpses of her tracking down Roz.
True and her similarities between AUTO hard to ignore imo it's just kind funny we see this A.I robot had her own personality so she doesn't really looked ripoff like other A.I villains to me, I guess Dreamworks just wanted to create a villain in an environment story like The Wild Robot sometimes it's just kinda unneccesary but it does worked well as film's message too. I agree with you I can't say she's one of great dreamworks villains but she still pays well as the final obstacle that Roz has to face much like AUTO she simply just following her program as somewhat represents the danger of A.I technology that can make people lose their mind with most A.I's following algorithm.
I feel like Vontra could have been better foil to Roz if she had no personality. Our main protagonist is a robot who can feel emotions so the main antagonist should be a robot who can't feel emotions. Even Vontra's henchmen had some moments of emotions if I remember correctly, while getting beaten by the animals.
In Wall-E our two main protagonists and other robots except AUTO had personality too but I feel it would copy Wall-E's main points I guess this is my opinions why they didn't make the antagonists with no personalities. Also Vontra's mistake is she was too focused to stop the gooses attacking the ship when Brighbill successfully break in she still focused to kill other gooses, I see that she did notice him but she didn't try to stop him thinking he was dead. I love how some people didn't like the ending of the story due to Vontra's role but it's geniunely emotional and imperfect imo not all animated movies need to be a great happy ending, Roz knew that even she had to fight for her own program to survive one thing is she finally knows what to do and where she belongs it's like we found our own freedom but we have to know what we were programmed to be too and she really thankful all to wild animals in the forest for protecting and cared her since she was stuck in that island
I forgot to tell that Dreamworks really love making animated villains that heavily from from Disney's and other animation studios so you can see some of their characterization really similar to Disney ones only Makunga who doesn't work at all I know his character is supposed to be a joke but sadly he's just there in the film serves as a parody version of Scar from The Lion King I didn't like how Zuba ignore his evil intentions. But villains like Marmalade are effectively worked well too than Zootopia's Bellwether she was portrayed too friendly in the movie and how she turned to be a mastermind is just kinda underwhelming too, Marmalade had plenty of screentime to portray how deceptive he is as a villain even I can't exactly say his twist reveal and plan are smart it definitely improved what Zootopia has been missing when it comes to twist villains. There's also another underrated villain like Victor Quartermaine from Wallace & Gromit The Curse Of The Were Rabbit he was bit similar to Gaston's character but he still worked as a comedic villain that you can enjoy whenever they're onscreen and he isn't complete idiot like Makunga, since that baddie was made by Aardman and they really nailed at creating psychotic and comedic animated baddies for a stop motion animated movies idk if you ever watched that movie
What's your opinion on Legendary Lord Farquaad from the first Shrek film? I feel I kinda enjoy sharing my thoughts on Dreamworks villains because they're kinda fun to entertain or hate, so many fans had so many had different opinions about them even some of them are from lackluster movies they're actually better characters than we actually thought
I think he is a decent villain. I did not grow up with the Shrek franchise. They are amazing movies but I am not that attached to them and their villains as much as others. I enjoy the adult humor elements with Farquaad but DreamWorks has several villains that are far more charismatic, evil, and nuanced.
What do you think?
