The two didn't exactly hit it off, but things were about to get a whole lot more intense. The symbiote found its way back to Brock and bonded to him again in his cell before escaping. However, the Venom symbiote asexually reproduced and left its first spawn behind. The new symbiote found its first host in Cletus Kasady and became Carnage.

Soon Cletus meets Eddie Brock and shares his cell with him. One night when Cletus tries to kill Eddie the symbiote bursted through the window and rebonds with Eddie transforming him into Venom and broke out of prison. However the symbiote gave birth to a newborn asexually reproduced red spawned offspring that bonds with Cletus through a cut on his hand and enters his bloodstream and has now become more stronger and powerful than Spider-man and venom combined, Cletus unleashes as the dark wild evil rebel savage deadly bloodthirsty Carnage.
