It depends who are asking but she is sympathetic until her fanbase ruined it.

@Anderson87546 Her fanbase is highly egregious as it's filled with people defending Azula's actions and trying to paint her as this innocent child who did nothing wrong. They even went so far as to portray Zuko and Iroh as these evil characters, who did nothing to help Azula and are the true villains of the story. There's a whole group of them on Tumblr.

Because of her fanbase, I have lost some sympathy for Azula and started to view her a bit more negatively while explaining that the true tragedy of her character is that she was raised in an environment that encourages her psychopathy.

Oh. Well I'm NOT on their side. I still sympathize with her and cry for her knowing that she is capable of being a genuine human being. She is the foil for Zuko if he did not have someone to help him through the hard times in his life. Zuko tries to help Azura after the war ended, and Iroh supported his action, believing finding Ursa would "bring Azula peace." I'm still hoping she can be redeemed, but it likely will take a long time.
