Val has excellent writing.

Velma.... ahem.

Valentino is the most hateable character from Hazbin Hotel, he's a rapist, he even hurts his employees also, mainly Angel.

I hate to say it but I find Val to be kinda hot. And yeah I know he's a terrible person...but I assure you all it's a guilty crush.

Val is written to be intently hated in areas like his treatment of Angel Dust and it worked, and even then I find his presence and design to be rather cool.

Velma on the other hand is an unintentionally unsympathetic jerk that basically stained Scooby-Doo's reputation as a franchise.
