I have two questions about Stranger Things.
Vecna and the Mind Flayer aren't the same being.
Does Angela count as a villain?

Does Angela count as a villain?
I can see that both Vecna and the Mind Flayer’s pages merge into one, which that explains as the Mind Flayer is the monstrous extension of Vecna’s will.

It seems people are missing the point of what
happened here. The Mind Flayer already existed
way before 001/Henry entered that dimension,
probably for 1000s of years. It was already a
cosmic-level, eldritch entity that corrupted
everything it came in contact with (i.e. the state
of the world its in, with demogorgons crawling
everywhere and there being no signs of healthy
life). The hive mentality between the shadow
and the demogorgons already existed too.
Only thing this changes is that the Mind Flayer
was given a form by 001 as a manifestation of
his own imagination, and it was redirected to the
over world as a way of giving the mind flayer
another world to corrupt. Henry is just the
facilitator for the Mind Flayer, but they each
depend on one another to accomplish their goal.
Nothing was really retconned here.
In other words, he and the Mind Flayer shared a symbiotic bond as the share the same goals through different means.

I've noticed several people are confused about the actual connection between Vecna and Mind Flayer in Stranger Things. So, I will try to clarify some points:
First of all, Vecna didn't created the original Mind Flayer, he just take control and gave it the tendril form. It already existed, along with Vines and Demogorgon, upon his arrival, in the form of a storm cloud and Hive Mind to the creatures of Upside Down, which already was there, as we can see One meeting a Demogorgon before he meets the fog of Mind Flayer.
Also, the series makes it clear the tendril form his gave to the Mind Flayer was based in the black-widows. I've seen some people saying the sketch of it he made when child was due to visions of it he had. Wrong, it was based in the black-widow spiders he kept in the attic.
Vecna controls the Mind Flayer. Even if the Mind Flayer does not present moral agency issues due that, the series made it clear Vecna took control of the Mind Flayer and the entire hive mind of the Upside Down, being responsable the main crimes the Mind Flayer and the Hivemind commited during the series. This isn't fridge horror, since just after we see he shapping the Mind Flayer in the form we know, we see he addimiting he was responsable for the Mind Flayer actions in season 3 to take Eleven's powers, and also, its actions of trying to invade Earth in season 2 and the Demogorgon arrival in season 1. All actions of the Upside Down creatures before season 4 converge in Vecna's main plan and the series give him the original idea to take genocide in the Earth, not the Mind Flayer, who was static before his arrival.
The moral agency of the Mind Flayer is still debatable. Some can argue it, despite being controlled by Henry, is aware of it and takes pleasure in the crimes Vecna commands it to do, and so, he isn't devoid of moral agency at all. However, even if the Mind Flayer does not present actual moral agency issues, is aware and can take pleasure in the crimes, the series still made it clear that Vecna is behind the actions of the Mind Flayer in the previrous season, including sendding the Demogorgon in season 1. Even Eleven addmits it.
Some people argue the Mind Flayer already had a plan to take genocide in humans and invade the Earth before Henry Creel arrival in the Upside Down, but it has some very weak points, since powerful as the Mind Flayer is (considering it as a cosmic entity), having this plan, why didn't it try to invade the Earth or started his genocide plan before? Why would it need One to put its genocial plan ahead? The Mind Flayer can even be the responsable by giving Henry his psychic powers in the first place, and then, this idea that the Mind Flayer already had a genocidal plan and it does not originated from Vecna can make sense. However, these are just theories and until it can really confirmed by the series, we can at most think the Mind Flayer did argue with the genocidal plan and takes pleasure with this. But we cannot say he has already a genocidal plan before One arrival, because it wasn't confirmed by the series.
Added with the previous point, some people theorizes that the Mind Flayer is actually controlling Vecna and manipulating him, mading he thinks he control it, not the inverse. Well, until it is confirmed by series, it is just a theory and so, supposition.
