Look, there’s no denying that FNAF and BATIM set some negative trends for indie horror, which would snowball into the mascot horror subgenre, which would snowball into the likes of Garten Of BanBan and Dandy’s world. And as of today, FNAF’s lore remains mostly stupidly convoluted. Like, nobody can settle on whether Glitchtrap and Burntrap are still Afton(when the latter literally grew a foot). And while the Dark Revival is the superior sequel that set Bendy on the right track, the scars from BATIM’s troubled production still linger. But the thing I want to address is how Poppy Playtime’s villains lack their own identity, and how it cripples the game fundementally.
Oh, what’s this? A cat that deluded himself with being a prophet for an entity that doesn’t give a shit about him? Sounds like a more detailed Sammy Lawerence.
What’s this? A pink spider is willing to give us the key to our freedom so long as we do as she says(when she wasn’t gonna do it anyways)? Twisted Alice already beat ya, but it’s debatable who had the more worse fetch quests.
Now what’s this? The most popular character is a feral beast and the first attempt at playing god is a vile creature? Yup, the prototype and Huggy Wuggy are the decomposite characters of The Ink Demon.
And what’s this? A talking tv used to experiment on kids and was screwed over by his bosses? Well, I think I speak for everyone when I say that Harley Sawyer is the composite character of Bertrum Piedmont and William Afton(who should have remained pure evil).
But, what do you guys think?
