This is from Scott himself. What he's saying here is that the stories are set in the games' canon. People pretty heavily misinterpreted this, which resulted in things like Andrew (the real identity of Golden Freddy) being stashed away in favor of the nonexistent character Cassidy and needless complications to the lore.
