The plot of the second season of Bitten opens with the pack hunting down Malcolm Danvers and what remains of his army in retribution for what he's done through season one. Of course things take a bit of a turn when the existence of witches is discovered and one of them Alister seeks out the most powerful werewolf, originally targeting Malcolm but later setting his sights on Elena after seeing she's killed Malcolm.
Now in this show, the witch coven cannot have male children due to a prophecy about the son of a witch being an antichrist figure called the destroyer who will bring about an apocalyptic event called the Undoing. Alister himself doesn't count do to having redeeming and sympathetic qualities, but the same can't be said our next candidate, Clara.
Who is Clara ? What does she do ?
Clara Sullivan was considered a bad egg of the coven, always considered to have a dark side. This dates back at least to when she was a teenager or young adult, and the future coven leader named Ruth shows up at her door. Ruth is pregnant and her water just broke, and she goes to Clara to help deliver the baby. Clara is amused that the baby is born a boy, and Ruth orders Clara to get rid of the baby and they say that Ruth had a stillborn. Clara hesitates when she tries to drown the baby in a bathtub and in a moment of conscience takes the child and leaves it at a church.
That doesn't sound so bad right ? Well...
Flash forward some thirty years later, and Clara is still causing trouble for her coven. This time around she gets caught using her magic to kill people, and is confronted by Ruth and her coven, who destroy Clara's talisman and take away her powers. Angry, Clara swears that she will get revenge. Clara then tracks down the baby, having grown up and been abused by his adoptive parents, and now preforming as a street magician. Clara then reveals the truth about Alister's existence and his destiny as the destroyer. A reject by both witches and humans, Alister embraces his destiny and goes on a crusade to bring about the Undoing, with Clara secretly at his side pulling the strings the whole way.
Now what exactly does this entail ? Alister sets up shop in an abandoned military base in Quebec, gathers a cult of worshipers around him, mad scientists on his payroll, and conducting mass murder, torture, and experimentation, sex rituals, you name it. He also abducts Ruth's twelve year old adopted daughter Savannah, in hopes of using her as a female conduit for his ritual, and seeks the blood of the most powerful werewolf, which he considers Elena, to be used on Savannah. The end results of the Undoing would of course be the undoing of every magical spell casted by a witch, permanently trapping werewolves in their wolf forms and killing every witch on the planet. Elena is captured briefly but later escapes with the help of her boyfriend Clayton, Ruth's daughter Paige, rescuing Savannah along the way, wiping out the cult and seemingly kills Alister along the way. Unfortunately, this is only the half way point of the season.
As it turns out, Clara and Alister have been working together on something for Clara. Alister would seduce young women and lure them to Clara's house where he would chain them on a bed and preform a ritual that would allow Clara to possess the girls body. In this shows lore this is a dark magic ritual that could destroy the soul of the victim, if not killing them completely than placing them in a scenario where they are trapped within their own subconscious. This is demonstrated when Alister briefly possesses Clayton before Clayton overcomes him. As it turns out Clara is looking for a new body and sets her sights on Savannah, wanting a body that will survive the Undoing and grant Clara access to magic once again.
Alister has Savannah abducted and forced her to drink a concoction made from her and Elena's blood, which is apparently enough to initiate the Undoing. Now begins a process where witches all over the world begin to slowly die and they have a day to kill Alister before it's too late. Clara keeps an eye on Savannah, withholding her talisman to keep the other witches from tracking her down. The pack and the coven head to the Delphi Building in Boston, which was built over a sanctuary of witches, where Alister, Clara and an abducted brainwashed Savannah pursue them, with Alister brainwashing dozens of rent-a-cops to try to kill them. Ruth is conducting a ritual that would kill Alister before the undoing is complete and in turn, Alister and Clara are tracking her down with the intent to kill her. When they find the ritual chamber, Alister finally confronts his mommy issues face to face, with Ruth admitting to what she did to Alister was wrong and she should have done him better, while Clara is trying to goad Alister into doing the deed. In any case, Alister has no power in the ritual room where he and Elena fight. Elena breaks Savannah free from her brainwashing and she runs off with Clara in pursuit. When Clara corners Savannah, she gloats to her how once she possesses her body, she's gonna use it to kill all her friends in the pack and how much fun she's gonna have in Savannah's body. Of course when Clara tried to attack Savannah herself, Savannah casts a spell of her own that causes Clara to choke to death on her own vomit, and Alister is killed by Elena, thus stopping the Undoing.
Redeeming Qualities or Freudian excuse?
Now this is where it gets interesting as its mentioned she was always a trouble maker and bad seed within her coven.
