@Yoshikage1234 don't let it make you nihilistic or misanthropic, remember that internet hasn't made things worse, just made it hard for bad to hide - also evil has always been loud and stupid and thus gains the most attention.
Good tends to be quiet and thus not noticed but it outlives evil and outnumbers it, popular media is designed to make you nihilistic and misanthropic so you owe it to yourself to stick it to said media by not becoming the exact kind of person it wants you to be.
People have despaired and declared humanity as being "unsaveable" for at least six thousand years, we're still around all those years later so it's not "unsaveable".
Life is often as short and brutal as you, partially, make it for yourself (just like if everyone dislikes someone that person is best to reconsider why.. it likely isn't their politics, race or creed (at least in modern era).. if everyone treats someone a certain way it's usually that person's attitude to blame).
"Best Buy Bans White People" - the final evidence anyone needs to understand why Quartering needs to be shut down.. this is probably the most open and obvious example of a hate-channel I've seen short of the "Brotherhood Prophets" of old (don't ask, you're better off not knowing).. anyone who does youtube please flag this channel as dangerous.
Funny how in my quest to find out why people are hating on Barbie for no logical reason I stumbled across one of the worst things about modern internet.
@AAArvore as did the Witch Hunting cults that wiped out entire communities, funnily led by similar preachers as the one that claimed "no violence before video-games".
the full title is worse.. "Psycho Mom Forces Son To Watch Barbie To "De-Program" Him" - Quartering is, honestly, one of several youtube channels that are nothing less than legalized hate-groups and the platform needs to crack down heavily on them.
They claim "free speech" but free speech does not apply when they are dedicating their channels towards actively radicalizing their audience, many of whom are vulnerable themselves (hate-channels prey upon people who are already rather fragile, whether it be mental health or otherwise, not dissimilar to cults).
Quartering is especially problematic as they exist solely to cause outrage:
Stella from Helluva Boss takes the cake far more than Crimson, Stella is the embodiment of a character basically made to be nothing but a hate-sink.
Think I found where a lot of Barbie as "man-hating" and "propaganda tool" came from, doesn't matter how popular he may be TheQuartering is very much a propaganda channel and loves to click-bait, stir the pot and so on.. never take anything people like TheQuartering state as facts, no matter how much the try and push it as such.
They pick-and-choose their evidence, always going for the most extreme, to demonize anything they dislike - also many times they will say anything to get some measure of clout for themselves.
Such channels are dangerous and feed on the "culture war" that they claim to be against, treat them as you would any hate-group standing around spreading misinfo and division.. report their channels, do not engage them and most important of all never fall for their tricks.. they are not trying to make the world a better place, they are ultimately online infamy-seekers who will target any vulnerable group in order to generate drama that they depend on to survive.
Video-game hatred is an evolution of general hatred of imagination and creativity, before video-games they would ban board-games and books (the classic "Dungeons and Dragons is witchcraft" craze of, I believe 70s).
Funnily the fanatical nature of these guys are their own downfall as one preacher (I use that term loosely so as not to insult actual people of faith who behave civilly) claimed there was no violence before video-games.. this is meme'd (rightfully) to this day.
Over here in the UK there was a massive hatred of horror movies for a while ("video nasties") - they blamed horror for every real-world crime imaginable and believed only "psychopaths" could enjoy the genre.. these groups even went as far as claiming child violence and deaths were due to horror (despite the movies never being intended for children to see).
People will always find scapegoats because it is easier to blame a bogeyman than blame oneself.. look up the Jungian "Collective Shadow" and you'll see it is a common thing across history that people will blindly hate upon certain subjects, rather than face their own shadow.
"None of us stands outside humanity's black collective shadow."
More importantly by dismissing Ken as a "propaganda tool" based, I assume, entirely on reviews online people have fallen for the exact thing they claim to be against and become propaganda tools themselves.
That video shows the fundamental flaw many critics of Barbie have..
"Barbieland is a world where women treat men however they feel"
Yes, the movie makes a point on how that world is just as horrible as the patriarchy - the Kens are oppressed and the movie doesn't shy from saying so.. if it was a toxic feminine film they'd of laughed at the Kens and had the Barbies all retake control because "men deserve it anyway".
It doesn't, the film says "men and women both share some degree of fault for each others misfortune and they'd be much better working together than forcing their beliefs upon each other (men can never truly understand women and that's okay because they aren't women.. just as women can never truly understand everything about being a man).
Ken becoming villainous is him trying to get Barbie's attention, since for most of his life he was just an object to her and nothing more.. this is a slap in the face to radical feminists (who mock men for having emotions etc) and is meant to say "men have feelings too, don't be a jerk to them and then whine when they in turn become jerks towards you".
Again, people seem to like taking jabs at Barbie because it is popular to do so, they know Disney will keep making atrocities and they can tar every new project with the same brush.. Barbie is not Disney and if anything Barbie takes a swipe at Disney's latest idea of "powerful women don't need men and show power via being jerks" - Barbie says "women and men both have a role to play and both can be jerks if they don't listen to each".
Barbie is not a man-hating film, I'm sorry but you probably got that info from youtube "reviews" on the movie.. have you actually watched it for yourself? I bet if you did you'd see that it's actually the opposite.
Barbie is about how both matriarchy and patriarchy are destructive and Barbie can be just as bad as Ken, the reason Ken acts out is because he wants to belong and he forgets that hate-groups are not true friends (as Touched By An Angel stated: "they aren't your friends, they are just people who hate as much as you do").
Barbie in turn realizes how badly she's treated Ken and how Barbieland itself is a dystopia despite being a matriarchy.
The message is similar to an episode (believe it or not) of Home Improvement where Tim (who is the embodiment of toxic masculine) gets into an argument over feminism and talks to Wilson, his neighbor, Wilson informs Tim how in history there were many culture where women dominated men just as men dominated woman, Wilson laments that perhaps some day men and women will learn to co-exist rather than dominate.
That's what Barbie is trying to sell, that neither side can "win" over the other, men and women are inherently different and both have flaws, neither is evil.. just in desperate need of help from the other.. man and woman are both human, they need each other despite how much they may get on each others nerves.
I hear a lot of people complain Barbie is "insensitive" or "two-dimensional" - it's a Barbie movie, not Schindler's List, the movie is meant to be silly, it's like saying Lego Movie is bad because it is silly.. give Barbie a chance, you'll be surprised.
Don't judge media based on youtube reviews or certain channels (often channels praising the "end of Woke" etc are, just as Touched By An Angel stated, not your friends, just people who hate.. we've all been through hateful stages, move on from it.. Muppets said it best "as freedom comes from spreading love, so prison comes with hate").
If it was a truly man-hating movie Ken would not have such a prominent role nor would the end scenario be about how Barbieland's matriarchy is just a mirror of patriarchy.
You want genuine anti-male etc? look at some Disney stuff.. Disney is crashing for many reasons, one being they actively promote some horrible stuff.. do *not* lump Barbie in with that crowd just because it has a feminist message (not all feminism is bad, Barbie itself is anti-radical for both sides, in today's world "anti-radical" is a good message for male, female and anyone else).
Revert, Ignore, Block - RIB
These are the three golden rules to dealing with harassment, trolls etc - if everyone just followed these simple rules trolls would go the way of spam, the *only* reason they exist is because people make big blogs about them.
In fact making blogs like this is a type of trolling (fishing for attention).
The sole reason to even respond is so if you aren't a troll you learn to not make these blogs at all and delete them in future - everything online is text on screen, you can delete a message in seconds, a troll takes more time making messages to get a rise than you do deleting it.
There's no danger in sharing stories of supernatural events or UFOs etc as long as one is sure to make sure the story one shares actually happened - the problem with internet ghost stories is people share them as facts, which can encourage unstable people to do dangerous things or feed their delusions.
There's actually quite a few fascinating stories about UFOS and close encounters, dating back way before the internet (early UFO stories are interesting in aliens were depicted unique and weird, then in 90s aliens all changed into Greys for some reason).
BEKs are similar to gang-stalking and "Men in Black" - if you truly believe you've seen such entities you need to talk to a doctor as it is sign of paranoid delusion.. if you are just spreading "scary stories" be more clear that what you are saying is fictional because while it may seem fun to spread online ghost stories you have to say they are fiction or negative things can happen in reality due to people with less sense of reality taking it literal.
Arguably only Arthur and South Park survived the curse of "seasonal rot" - Family Guy and Simpsons are infamous for degrading severely in quality over time.
As for comparing them? we can argue South Park inspired adult-cartoons like Family Guy but Simpsons had a hand in popularizing the "animated family sitcom" (though Flintstones did it many years prior)
Arthur can't really be compared to the other three as Arthur is preschool - though I have heard a lot of adults liked Arthur as well, so there's that.. it is rare a preschool media can amass a sizeable audience with older folk so it must of done something right.
They are both hateful for differing reasons.
Gaston is a womanizer, a jerk, a narcisstic abuser and a coward.
Scar is a tyrant, a murderer and a psychopath.
Scar was an outcast yet he was deeply loved by Simba, who knew his "uncle Scar" was "odd" but was young and innocent enough that he loved Scar regardless and didn't understand the dangers.. Scar repays one of the few beings that truly loved him by unspeakable betrayal and cruelty.
Gaston was loved by everyone and yet only focused on the one person who didn't love him, he had literally everything but wanted more.. he allowed this to consume him to the point he was happy to kill Beast just to spite Belle, he no longer cared if she would love him, he wanted to hurt her just because she refused him.
So pick your poison but both are pretty vile.. which is why they are good as villains.
If our ancient memes are anything to go by this is the lovechild of Alan Yates and Peter Stegman after being raised by his uncle Joffrey, on his way to battle the evil overlord Norris and thus avenge his fathers untimely demise at the hands of a crazed vigilante.
Sexuality is like race, gender and disability - these things stay with you for life but should not become your life.. there's so much more to living than just these things.. however it is pointless trying to convince people of this, usually they learn later in life.
