Not surprised he made it to npe to be honest.
Yeah sorry
Oop, I thought you meant in general and not that year
"What did I do to deserve this?! I mean what specifically!"
Apparently I'm committing crimes with both direction and magnitude
In the understanding they basically go against the government, stealing their documents and destroying them just because they can't homeschool their child. That seems pretty evil to me.
The franchise is not about Chucky, it's about a 6 year old boy losing his innocence to a man who was too stubborn to face his own mortality.
There is a distinction.
Yes, the character. Not the franchise.
A horror movie I deeply care about and think is a good franchise, it's why I love the Child's play movies so much. It has characters you care about and feel for if they die. Especially poor Andy, he just wanted a good guy for his birthday, not a serial killer trapped inside one!
At first glance, you wouldn't think Chucky to be no better a killer then most other horror slashers like Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger. But there is a very key distinction between him and the others, and that is that he PLANNED to cheat death.
Unlike other killers who are nearly impossible to kill like Jason or Freddy, they never PLANNED to be unstoppable undead killing machines. It was circumstances beyond their control like being resurrected by lightning or being gifted by dream demons, they never PLANNED for these things to happen. Charles on the other hand, DID. He went to Dr. Death and looked up the voodoo of Damballa SPECIFICALLY to cheat death by swapping bodies with someone else incase he ever found himself on deaths door so he can continue his murder sprees. And when he couldn't find anyone else he decided to put his soul in a nearby good guy doll because it was the only option. Unlike other slashers, Chucky is STUBBORN in that he never wants to die, and wants to continue killing others FOREVER. A concept that should be ABSTRACT, but his relentlessness in studying voodoo has made it almost possible. He needs to perish and face the consequences of his actions, and be sent to hell permanently. There are no other words to describe how much I HATE this little SOB. HE NEEDS TO DIE.
For me it was leaving the young six and Starlight to be sucked into another dimension, not caring about what would happen to them on the other side. It shows how uncompassionate and detached she is to the lives of others.
Well that's your opinion.
Wheatley was a charming edition to Portal 2, actually having a companion to guide you through aperture science. When he betrays you after having access to the mainframe, it doesn't take a genius to predict he would, Absolute power corrupts absolutely and based on how you failed to catch him when he asked you to, it would make sense for him to take his anger out on you, especially Glados for calling him a robot DESIGNED to be an absolute idiot. Meanwhile, Glados from the first game was written to have NO redeeming qualities. Her reward for completing the tests is throwing you into a fire pit to die. And her backstory is revealed that she POISONED the entire aperture staff with neurotoxin. It was a bit of a bold decision to give her a backstory in the 2nd game, to try to give her sympathetic qualities. I just wish it didn't end with Wheatley being banished to space like that, nobody deserves that kind of fate. I wish there was a way to save him. :(
OH GOD I HOPE NOT. don't get me wrong. I thought the 2019 reboot was an interesting take on the story, but it can never compete with the original. If there were to be another reboot it should at least follow the 2019 timeline. I don't want this franchise to be milked to death. We already saw how that played out with FNAF's security breach.
Jason is overrated, sometimes it's refreshing to have a PE villain while also being mortal with a few implied supernatural qualities.
If a new movie were to come out, it HAS to have Child's play in the title. The story was never about Chucky, it was about an innocent boy who was unfortunate to get a toy tainted with the evil of a killer who was too afraid to die. And if the movie is to be the last, Andy has to be the one to finish him.
Ok.... I hope your right, I just REALLY DAMN hate him. And that's a good thing, because it means that I enjoy Child's play as a franchise. It makes me feel for the characters, it may be a generic slasher franchise with the slasher being a toy, but it still has a really good story. One that makes you CARE when a character dies, I just wish that it ends with a happy ending.
Cult of Chucky had him split his soul into multiple good guys as well as Nica who runs off with Tiffany, and he also traps Andy in the asylum. And season 3 ends with Caroline fully on Chucky's side, Chucky gets a new body and Damballa's good graces back, and makes off with Tiffany again and the main trio turned into puppets.
