"Hikaru", the identity of the unnamed being possessing Hikaru, and is the titular main protagonist of the cosmic-horror manga and anime series The Summer Hikaru Died.They are the mysterious being who took over the identity and appearance of a teenage boy named Hikaru. The being retains all of Hikaru's memory and personality. They try to continue his peaceful life with the host's best friend, Tsujinaka Yoshiki. He is a spawn, a species of mysterious creatures from the "Other Side."
Appearance[]
The creature takes on the appearance of Hikaru, a cheerful boy with white hair, eyebrows and blue eyes. "Hikaru" is short. He is missing a left teeth as shown by his smiles. He typically wears a white shirt. "Hikaru" is described as having a fox-like appearance. They can often be seen as having red eyes at times in the body of Hikaru.
Whenever "Hikaru" feels extreme emotion too overwhelming for him to handle, he starts leaking out a black and white intestine-like mass that is covered in many different patterns, however his insides rarely come out unprovoked.
Personality[]
Possessing the personality of Hikaru, the monster can exactly act like his host. "Hikaru" is a childish boy who shows some degree of curiosity unlike his best friend. To his shock, Yoshiki saw through "Hikaru" disguise and the monster begs him to let it be Hikaru, but Yoshiki still suspects them. "Hikaru" is incredibly obsessed with Yoshiki because of his kindness towards him, even willing to do anything for him, but, at the same time, he lacks the ability to see life and death as different things because of his ability to see the souls of both the alive and the dead. He lacks any human instincts such as fear of death, hunger, lust, and sexual attraction, but he has instincts of his own such as the instinct of wanting to consume human souls, which feels good to him. Despite his lack of human instincts, he always attempts to avoid hurting Yoshiki in anyway, even if it means allowing his true identity being revealed to someone who isn't Yoshiki.
Powers and Abilities[]
In practice, the monster is a being that can manipulate a human minds by looking into their eyes.
