Ángel (spelt as Angel in all games before The King of Fighters XV, and pronounced Ahn-hell) is a minor antagonist in the The King of Fighters video game series.
She was voiced by Miina Tominaga in The King of Fighters 2001, Mayumi Shintani in both versions of The King of Fighters 2002, and Miki Ogura in all appearances since The King of Fighters XIV.
Biography[]
Angel was born in Mexico, being a wrestler who started out as an agent of NESTS.
In The King of Fighters 2001, she worked with K9999 to assassinate Kula Diamond and her guardians, who she was on the name official team on. Upon being defeated, as K9999 heads off with the Ikari Warriors, Angel stayed behind to destroy NESTS' headquarters.
After the defeat of NESTS, Angel remained in Mexico on the run, constantly dodging NESTS loyalists. Eventually, Ramón would find Angel and convince her out of her own boredom to fight alongside him and the King of Dinosaurs as Team Mexico in The King of Fighters XIV.
Angel returns in the next part of the "Shun'ei Saga", The King of Fighters XV, alongside Krohnen McDougall and Kula Diamond as part of the former's team. In their story, they "kidnap" Kula (in truth Kula joining them to spite K' following a dispute she had with him) before joining the King of Fighters tournament due to Krohnen's desire to defeat K'.
Personality[]
Angel, an honorable and alluring NESTS assassin, possesses a mix of childishness and fierceness that makes her quite adorable. She shares some similarities with a cat, and despises any mention of her weight and reacting strongly to such attempts, threatening punishment for those who do so. Unlike K9999, Angel lacks an evil inclination and eventually realizes her status as a savage girl, especially upon the organization's dissolution.
Despite her association with NESTS, Angel becomes an ally to her teammates Ramon and King of Dinosaurs. After leaving NESTS, she joins the latest KOF tournament, showcasing her strengths and alliances. Her villainhood mainly stems from her mischievousness and is not antagonistic.

- Angel, alongside Shermie, has the largest recorded bust measurement in The King of Fighters series.
- Some of Angel's moves and personality traits are based off the American famous wrestler/actor Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
- Some of Angel's moves are also named after songs by the bands Soul Flower Union and Newest Model.
- Angel is named after Ángel Torres, a employee of the Mexican video game company EVOGA. This came about after SNK lost a bet to EVOGA in a 3v3 match in The King of Fighters, which EVOGA winning against SNK.
