The 23rd Street Killers are the main antagonistic organization of the Criminal Minds episode "True Night". They're a street gang in Los Angeles with a long history of violence and organized crime, most of them guilty of the gang-rape and murder of Vickie Wright and the attempted murder of his boyfriend-turned-fiance Jonny McHale, who suffered PTSD and killed them all in revenge.

Biography[]

Little is revealed about the gang's history and operations. They mostly consisted of male members, were known for their extreme levels of violence and marking their territory with "TSK" in graffiti, and operated in dangerous and impoverished areas of the city. Their base of operations was the house of Glen Hill, the leader nicknamed "The Reaper" for being a ruthless, cold-blooded murderer. Jonny and Vickie had the misfortune of coming across Hill and several TSKs, when Jonny, finding out Vickie was pregnant with their child, got on one knee and proposed to her on the street. Hill interrupted to harass the couple and then scare an answer out of Vickie, her answer being yes. Hill ordered his cronies to grab Vickie and take her into an alley, as well as Jonny. The entire group gang-raped Vickie in front of Jonny, then tortured her to death, killing her unborn child. Jonny was then disemboweled and left for dead, but he lived and suffered PTSD-induced psychosis as a consequence. He took on an alter ego based on his comic ideas and killed the TSK members in the streets at night, in ones and twos originally and in increasing frequency, usually armed with traditional swords. When Jonny was finally ready to go after Hill, he faced six gangsters at Hill's house, killing them all in spite of him being moderately injured from being shot. He then abducted Hill, took him to an abandoned warehouse, and tortured Hill to death by gutting him, cutting off his arms, and while he was still alive, beheading him. Hill was left at the warehouse, i pieces and with the swords used to slaughter him. Jonny was arrested as his psyche began to decline, and when shown the renderings of his killings he drew by memory, he recalled everything and led the police to the warehouse, later being institutionalized permanently.
