8t88 is a minor villain in Star Wars: Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II.
Description[]
A rogue Model 88 Administrative Droid seeking vengeance for the loss of his original head, which was replaced with a smaller head from a different droid model, a JMM assassin droid. He currently works as an information broker, trading classified information for money and favors. However, when the Dark Jedi Jerec hires him in his attempts to uncover the Valley of the Jedi, he is quickly brought into conflict with Kyle Katarn, the droid's only source of information on the Valley's location.
He had several bodyguards including two human males Rol and Grentho, along having a Trandoshan male bounty hunter named Porg.
While heartless and self-serving, he did care for one thing other than revenge: his pet hornagaunt, a massive beast named Grendel.
History[]
8t88 was a Model 88 Administrative Droid who was constructed in 190 BBY by Uhr-Vah-Vo Techworks, a Tiss'shar manufacturing company, where he was a member of the 88 line and was designed to act as a bookkeeping and administrative droid and was eventually assigned as the leading droid in the management of the famous holoscan database on Wootsri.
One day, students from the University of Coruscant had came to the database where one of them, Zokor Polpot, the Vice-Chancellor of the university, had replaced 88's head with that of a JMM assassin droid as a prank to embaress the university's chancellor. The incident pressured the chancellor to resign and 8t88 to be scarred from the event and eventually grew to loath and hate everything that was human.
Trivia[]
- 8t88 has been reintroduce in Star Wars Canon, in a trading card Promise of Power where he double-crossed a human and threatened the human with his DL-44 blaster.
