A.J. and fellow thug Bruno Mannheim ambushed Chloe Sullivan outside a gala event. Lois Lane heard her screams and went to her aid; she whacked Bruno with her stiletto heels before kicking A.J. down.

A.J. was arrested, but was released on bail and returned to the Ace of Clubs where Bruno recently took over. The new bartender Jimmy Olsen arrived late to work where Bruno and A.J. noticed he had his camera and took it away from him, admiring it before recognizing Chloe and Stiletto in his pictures.
A.J. then shoved Jimmy onto the balcony where Bruno beats him, demanding to know where Stiletto is, before hitting him with the camera so hard that it falls over the balcony rail into the street.
Bruno then ordered A.J. to find out who Chloe was while Ricky would unlock her laptop.
At the Talon, Chloe was coming downstairs into the basement when A.J. attacked her. He held a knife on her demanding she tell him who Stiletto was. She managed to break free, but A.J. catches up to her and pinned her against a wall with a knife.
As he was about to slit her throat, Doomsday emerged from the basement of the Talon drags him away and brutally killed him. After Doomsday finished him off, Chloe bagged up A.J.'s remains in two large garbage bags and threw them into a dumpster at the back of the Talon.
Seeing blood on her hands caused Chloe to break down in tears.
A.J.'s remains were later found by the police in the dumpster and Clark Kent realized that Davis Bloome was still alive.
