The ACME Corporation are the overarching antagonists in the Looney Tunes franchise, especially various Road Runner cartoons. They also serve as the main antagonists of the 2003 film Looney Tunes: Back in Action.
They are a company that produces many outlandish contraptions that often times backfire and/or fail. Their products range from ordinary products such as anvils to more extravagant things such as disintegrator guns. However, it is not always that the products will serve their purpose.
In fact, they tend to fail catastrophically, and at the worst times possible. Although the quality of their products is dubious, their delivery services are top notch: you can post a receipt in the mailbox, wherever you are in the world, and the package will arrive in less than 5 seconds.
Trivia[]
- Many think the name means "A Company that Makes Everything" or "American Company That Manufactures Everything", but it is actually derived from the Greek for "highest point", which is what the company is all about.
- Thanks to the popularity of the Looney Tunes franchise, the name of the ACME Corporation has popularized the word "ACME" to the point that most people associate it with something of dubious quality.
- It was founded by Marvin Acme, who was killed in Who Framed Roger Rabbit by Judge Doom.
- It is possible the ACME Corporation is located somewhere in Fairfield, New Jersey. The only fact which has officially revealed is that it is within a city (as shown in Looney Tunes: Back in Action), but has not been clearly revealed which city.
- It is shown that the ACME Corporation ranks second on the richest companies in fictional history ranking behind CHOAM from Dune series.
- To this day, it is exactly unknown whether the ACME products Wile E. Coyote purchases have a bad quality or if Wile doesn't use them in the correct way.
- The latter possibility is possibly backed up in Looney Tunes: Back in Action, as Mr. Chairman vehemently denies that the ACME equipment isn't good and that Wile is at fault that they don't work correctly.
- A fan theory suggests that the reason why Wile's ACME products never work is because the Road Runner, his arch-nemesis, is secretly the CEO of the company who purposely sabotages the gadgets to save his own life. Due to the existence of Mr. Chairman in the movie, it is likely this theory is not canon.
