The ADA, through its three incarnations, are the secondary antagonists of the alternate history analog horror series THE MONUMENT MYTHOS, the first installment in the franchise of the same name.
The first two iterations of the ADA, the Anti-Dean Association and the Anti-Device Association, are groups of extremist terrorists with the sole purpose in mind of denigrating and sometimes even destroying the 37th President of the United States, James Dean, and everything related to him, such as Maize Machines and their devices, the Department of Technology, and more.
Their twisted love for America had once driven some of their members to found the splinter faction Advocates for the Division of America, a full-out Doomsday Cult who worships The Horned Serpent as if it were a god, planning to destroy Earth through all means necessary to achieve this goal. The Advocates fortunately met their demise in 2003 at the hands of the anomaly they themselves groomed into being a superweapon, the Air Force One Angel.
Although they have been active for over fifty years and gone throughout various iterations, the Associations have been consistent in various traits, such as their hatred for James Dean, their twisted adoration of America and the nation's founding fathers, and the acronym "ADA" itself.
Biography[]
Actions During James Dean Election[]
During the electoral campaigns for Nixon and Dean in 1968, certain groups would hijack radios in houses and cut power lines to stop Dean's infamous "DEANDEMOCRACY" campaign ad playing on American televisions, due to its quickly exploding popularity. They inadvertently helped Dean, as it ends up being a display of his truly patriotic demeanor, helping electricians across the country for four days until Election Day. After Dean wins by a landslide, these Anti-Dean Groups would consolidate to form the Anti-Dean Association in 1969, and would create smear campaigns for him on television, as well as cut his audio off on his first televised presidential speech. This helps Dean again, with famous Hollywood director Stanley Kubrick even describing it as the "best silent film ever made."
The Anti-Dean Disaster[]
In May of 1969, in another attempt to defame and possibly impeach Dean, the Anti-Dean Association hacks televisions to again televise a "Dean is Satan" ad, with the motif being the blaring siren at the end of the ad signalling that the association hacked and activated every air raid siren in the U.S. at higher than safe operating volume. This hack lead thousands of Americans at each siren climbing up them to attempt to shut them off, only to die from the sound of the siren or being crushed by other people climbing, killing thousands per siren. A minimum estimate of deaths caused by this is about 540,000 people. Dean would refuse to hide in a bunker as instructed by White House officials during the disaster. He would mobilize the national guard and military officials to deactivate abandoned cars in the street and deactivate the sirens. Dean himself deactivated a siren, leaving him deaf and his face deformed.
When the disaster was over, Dean would make an announcement denouncing all Anti-Dean Association members, and told U.S. citizens to report them to government agencies. These reported individuals were brought to Special Trees near national monuments, and bringing out alternate reality versions of the association members into society, killing the old versions. The improvement in character was so extreme that citizens wanted in on the program, and Dean made a statement shutting down these individuals. "If we sent everyone to prison, then what's a prison anymore?" Dean's further actions would eventually cure deafness in America, with the help of Maize Machines. This event also garnered the creation of the Department of Technology (DoT).
Attempted Insurrection 1977[]
On January 6th, 1977, the Anti-Dean Assocation would storm the U.S. Capitol, armed, in order to destroy Freedom, having some intelligence about its anomalous properties. This would fail, however, and the statue would come to life and attack multiple ADA members in the area. She is eventually moved to The Grand Canyon in order to perform executions on other association members in orders of President Dean himself.
The Unifications of 1980 and 2003 and Aftermath[]
In an attempt to destroy the borders of America, the Advocates for the Division of America, a splinter of the Anti-Device Association, would utilize the Air Force One Angel's massive energy potential to blow it up and disturb The Horned Serpent, causing damage to U.S. borders. They attempt this once in 1980, though the damage was easily repairable. After the Angel turns the United States into United Zones due to the packages it dropped on the Alcatraz, The Washington Monument, and Mount Rushmore, it is shot down.
The Advocates intercept the Angel, and reattempt their Unification. They would publicize the event through the "2003 World Egg Transmission", as dubbed by Maize. In this transmission, they explain in great detail about the assassination of President Rockefeller by the Angel, their plans of using the Angel to disturb the Serpent, and their hatred of the Zones the Angel created. They would also deify the Serpent, calling the Earth "The World Egg" and the Serpent as "The Underground God." After this transmission, their plans would go through with great success, making borders impossible to fix for at least a century.
Unfortunately for the Advocates, The Angel wouldn't take being used as a weapon too lightly and would go into hiding after it reveals that it had murdered all of them after the Unification of 2003, leaving the Anti-Device Association as the only ADA left.
Maya and Nathaniel Arnoldson Expedition[]
Seemingly sometime in the 2010 to 2020s, Maya and Nathaniel Arnoldson would take an expedition to a presumably former Maize manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania. They would explore the site a bit and decide to graffiti the building first, with phrases like "BEWARE THE MONUMENTS, THEY ARE ALL CONNECTED" and "THE MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX GROWS." They then walk down a flight of stairs they find within the building, that eventually leads to a small cave. They explain that the air is electrically charged, with no devices or lights to be found, nor a single sign of life. A map given to them by the ADA helps them navigate the cave. Due to the poor censoring done by Maize, we can clearly see that the map details a giant snake creature in full form below the facility, as they point to it, confirming to each other where they must go. They then test how charged the air is, going to touch some water, before one of them gets a massive static shock. The video then cuts to them hearing howling sounds of charged air and the zaps of electric arcs, before the camera turns to show the head of The Horned Serpent looking at them. They then edit in a part saying that the serpent hasn't been fed, before both Maya and Nathaniel credit themselves. This video was confiscated by Maize, and later censored in some areas.
Inciting the Finder's Keepers Day[]
On TWTTR, the Anti-Device Association would capitalize on the Suez Canal Crab/Ever Given's appearance in Cairo to reason that T-Machines were overstocking the ship, causing it to get caught in the Suez Canal in the first place. They would then criticize President Hillary Clinton's inaction and slowness to classify the Crab as a TFMD. Finally, they would say the Cairo Exclusion Zone (the area where the Suez Canal Crab crashed into the Cairo Tower) was a conspiracy used to steal American goods off of the Ever Given. Using this reasoning, they told the American people that they should go to Cairo to take their things from the wreckage of the Ever Given, calling it "Finder's Keeper's Day." This incitement would cause the Cairo Stampede, killing thousands of Americans. Journalist Howard Melrose would describe the event as a "medieval painting" and that "All of their bodies were jammed into each other. Everyone became one."
Curiously enough, some of the involved in the stampede would resort to pray to the Crab, with various testimonies claiming that they had heard the voice of a deity promising to spare their lives if they prayed to the crab, ignoring the large pile of corpses surrounding them. This event is highly reminiscent of the Advocates for the Division of America praying to The Horned Serpent and how Ferdinand de Lesseps was telepathically manipulated by it, implying that this deity in question was the Serpent itself.
Leonard Morlin's Revelation[]
On February 22nd, 2022, his final broadcast of the New Delaware Journal, Leonard Morlin would reveal the ADA forced him to read scripts about anomalies like the MOTHERSHIP, The Starry Sphinx, and Lincolnlookers, which he revealed to be hoaxes to corroborate ADA claims about certain events. He would also reveal information about the Great Division, Cthounaut K., and Alcatraz.
The Great Division[]
Also on February 22nd, the Advocates for the Division of America's goal is indirectly accomplished by the Department of Technology after they orchestrate a confrontation between Freedom and the Air Force One Angel, causing severe damage to the crust of the Earth which allows the Horned Serpent to finally release itself from the crust of the Earth and start forth the Great Division, causing Special Trees to emerge from it's body and spread all over the universe, thus forming the Cornerworld.

- The ADAs are a clear mockery and parody of various extremist far-right groups, such as QAnon.
- Just like their real life equivalents, the ADA stormed the US Capitol in January 6th, with the exception that in the Deanverse this event ocurred in 1977 instead of 2021.
- The Advocates for the Division of America are a parody of those who perceive the Founding Fathers as without flaw and idolize them despite their multiple confirmed crimes, such as slavery and genocide, often times even justifying them.
- The name "ADA" is a homophone to 88, a known Neo-Nazi whistleblow.
