Aaron Bayliss is a fictional character in the medical drama Casualty, appearing as the main antagonist of its 2025 miniseries Public Property.

He is portrayed by Jack Wilkinson.

Biography

Aaron Bayliss is a journalist that lives in Holby. When driving his wife Thea to the hospital while she was in labour, he accidentally crashed into a restaurant where Dylan Keogh and Jodie Whyte were having dinner. Thea hadn't been wearing a seatbelt due to her pregnancy which resulted in her being seriously injured. Dylan was unable to save Thea but managed to save the baby with a cesarean section. The baby girl would be named Elsie.

Aaron found it hard to cope and turned to Jodie for help. Sympathetic, she attended Thea's funeral to offer him support. Back at his house, they ended up having sex, and afterwards Jodie made a remark that implied Dylan could have done more to save Thea. Believing that Dylan had killed his wife, a vengeful Aaron planned to take him down. He wrote an article slamming the doctor, although kept Jodie's name out of it. He later reported Dylan to the police, which resulted in his arrest under suspicion of negligence. These actions put Dylan's reputation and career on the line, and Jodie began to feel guilt for involving Aaron in her life.

After Dylan managed to clear his name and move forward, Jodie cut off all ties with Aaron.

• He appeared in Public Property, a miniseries as part of the 39th series of Casualty. He appeared in 8 out of the 11 episodes of the miniseries.
• He is the second main antagonist of series 39, succeeding Jamie Cleveland.
