I just need something to stick up somebody. I'm not trying to shoot them back in time.
~ Aaron to Shocker.
Can I give you some advice? You gotta get better at this part of the job.
~ Aaron to Spider-Man.
I don't want those weapons in this neighborhood either. I got a nephew living out here.
~ Davis explaining why he doesn't like the alien weaponry (also alluding to Miles Morales).

Aaron Davis is a minor antagonist in the 2017 Marvel film Spider-Man: Homecoming. He is a criminal who was originally willing to buy Chitauri weaponry before coming at odds with Spider-Man. He also appears to be the uncle of Miles Morales.

He was portrayed by Donald Glover.

Personality

Despite being a blameworthy criminal, Davis appears to a be a genuinely decent person, saying himself that he hates the Chitauri weaponry and prefers using simply weaponry. He also appears to care for his nephew and has a moral consciousness, he also seems to be kind, assured, and respectful towards Spider-Man to the point of even giving him friendly advice.

Biography

Aaron is trying to buy weaponry from Adrian Toomes, but is wary of the heavy weaponry that Toomes and his gang are selling and asks for something less lethal. Jackson Brice shows him more weaponry also made from Chitauri technology. When a ringtone rings, the two criminals suspect Aaron set them up and pull their guns on him, only to Spider-Man to reveal himself and Aaron flees the scene. Later on in the movie, Davis is walking back to his car with his shopping and while closing the boot, Spider-Man webs his hand to the top of it. Spider-Man tries to use his suit's interrogation mode to intimidate Aaron, however, he is completely un-phased by, as Spider-Man had little idea of what he was doing. After Spider-Man turns the interrogation mode off, Aaron willingly helps him out by telling him about a deal on the Staten Island ferry, stating that he doesn't want Toomes' high-tech weapons around, as he has a nephew living in the area, also telling Spider-Man to work on his interrogation methods. Spider-Man thanks him for his help and tells him the webbing will face off in about two hours, to Aaron's dismay, as he had ice cream in his shopping bag.

Trivia

  • In the comics, Davis was the Ultimate Universe incarnation of the supervillain Prowler, who was responsible for Miles Morales being bitten by a radioactive spider. However, unlike in the movie, Davis had little to no moral conscience and actually tried to exploit his nephews' powers for his own gain.
  • Donald Glover previously tried to audition for Spider-Man for a possible reboot back in 2010. His attempts became noteworthy and inspired the creation of Miles Morales, whom Glover eventually voiced in Ultimate Spider-Man.
  • Davis's alias, Brian Pichelli, is a reference to the original creators of the character, writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli.
