Abaddon is a supporting antagonist in the anime, manga, and light novel series Seraph of the End. He is a demon that was summoned by Lieutenant General Kureto Hīragi by using the Fifth Trumpet alongside with Mirai Kimizuki's body. He primarily serves as a demon of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army (JIDA) under the control of Kureto.
Appearance[]
Abaddon is a demon of colossal body armored with a crimson and dark carapaces. Has he has seemingly two legs, two pair of limbs with many sharp features across his body, a pair of large wings, and a round torso. His head is tiny compared to the rest of his body and has a pair of long horns on both sides. A ball of light is also seen manifesting down between his legs.
Biography[]
Moments after a battle between vampires and soldiers of the Japanese Imperial Demon Army took place at Nagoya Airport, Kureto orders Aoi Sangū to crush the Second Trumpet who just appeared to attack. Aoi orders all units to concentrate their attack to crush the enemy right before the demon Abaddon is summoned right behind the Fifth Trumpet. The gigantic monster fires a beam at the Second Trumpet, but fails to hit him. The seraph then summons a row of salt pillars to counter another attack of the demon before generating a sword made of salt and charges toward the demon, instantly ending the demon on the spot.
Osaka Arc[]
The demon appears again, later in the Osaka Arc where he is seen alongside a soldier of the JIDA who orders him to fire a blast toward the building where a battle between Kureto and his father Tenri Hīrag takes place, incinerating majority of the floor.
Abaddon, defeated by the Second Trumpet.
Abilities[]
- Horsemen of the Apocalypse Summoning: Seemingly not being able to summon these on his own, when striked with arrows that were made by the JIDA, fleshes are sent on the ground before being morphed into monsters known as the Horsemen of the Apocalypse. They are hostile creatures who are also known to be summoned by the Fifth Trumpet. The horsemen that Abaddon summon however appears to be more hostile, as they not only attack human but vampires as well.
- Destructive Ray: Abaddon is able to fire a highly powerful ray that even gave the Second Trumpet a hard time to deal against.
Trivia[]
- Like largely other scenes in the anime, the battle between Abaddon and the Second Trumpet finished differently, as Abaddon was defeated by summoning a giant spear of salt from the sky to impale through him, turning him into salt as well.
