Abdul Hakim is the main antagonist of the Cowboy Bebop episode Stray Dog Strut.
He is a serial pet thief who captured a "data dog" from a group of scientists who were illegally experimenting on it. The dog would later be adopted by Bebop Crew, and was named Ein.
He was voiced by Ryūzaburō Ōtomo in the Japanese Dub and by Joe Romersa in the English Dub.
History[]
Abdul was a serial pet thief who captured several animals in order to gain money from collectors. One day, he entered a lab where the scientists were conducting illegal experiments on animals and stole a "data dog" which would later be called Ein by the Bebop. He then had a few doctors perform a surgery for him to escape the authorities, and rather than paying them, he beat them up, knocked them unconscious, and ran away. He would later get a bounty of 8 million woolongs on his head for his crimes.
When he went to a restaurant to buy a drink, a man stole the bag that he was using to transport Ein and tried to sell it to a pet owner. However, it wasn't of much value and was only worth 200 woolongs. Spike then appeared and thought he was Hakim, since he was after him to get the money, but then realized that he was wrong.
Hakim then appeared behind the man that was trying to sell Ein and threatened to shoot him if he didn't give it to him, but he resisted and fired in the pet owner's store, causing many of the animals to escape, including Ein. Hakim went after Ein while Spike tried to capture him.
After the two have a fight, Spike takes care of Ein while Hakim loses track of time and was late to sell Ein to the collector, and when he found the hour of the day from two children, he pushed them aside and tried to convince the collector to change the hour, although he refused.
Hakim is later seen trying a game to get money when he sees Ein going after the truck of the scientists that experimented on it, causing Hakim to chase after them by stealing a car from a wedding and knocking the fiancé unconscious. He then grabs Ein, but it escapes from Hakim and nearly falls of a bridge. Spike then decided to save Ein rather than capturing Hakim and getting his bounty.
Hakim would later get hit by the scientists' trucks and fall into a police station, causing both Hakim and the scientists to be arrested and Spike to lose the bounty on Hakim.
