Abigail is a major antagonist in Mouse Guard, serving as a minor character in Fall 1152 and one of the two main antagonists of Winter 1152 (along with the One-Eyed Owl). She was the central healer of Lockhaven, the stronghold of the Mouse Guard, but secretly plotted with the rebellious Midnight to destroy the Guard. After Midnight's defeat and banishment, Abigail continued her secret war, organizing sabotages all over the territories and trying to kill everyone in Lockhaven by poisoning the well.

Abigail was a brown mouse who generally wore a yellow cloak.
Personality[]
To most, Abigail seemed a loyal and kind mouse, who effectively helped those living in Lockhaven and deeply cared about her patients. However, after meeting Midnight, Abigail revealed a hateful and power-hungry side. She had hoped to be the queen of all the territories under Midnight's rule, and when he was defeated by the Mouse Guard, she grew to despise them. Although initially taking out her anger on one mouse by poisoning him, once she realized she had been discovered, she decided to try and poison the Lockhaven well, effectively wiping out the entire guard. She showed that she cared nothing for her own life, only wanting to satisfy her own vengeance, with ruthlessness bordering on sadism.
Abigail was also very intelligent. She was skilled at her profession as a healer, knowing all the right herbs to use, which also made her an effective poisoner. She was also a good liar, and very manipulative. In addition to this, she was easily able to organize secret sabotages all over the territories by finding old followers of Midnight who were still loyal.
Biography[]
When she was young, Abigail joined the Mouse Guard, wanting to protect the Territories. Although she was originally a patrol guard, she was eventually repositioned the healer of Lockhaven, which she was better at and enjoyed more.
At some point, she met fellow guard mouse Midnight, who was plotting against the Guard. He convinced her to join his cause by explaining the problems with the guard and promising that she would be his queen when he ruled the territories. Eventually, he led his army of followers on a march against Lockhaven, and Abigail subtly supported them, and was never discovered. However, Midnight lost and was banished from the territories and his army was disbanded. A high-ranking guard mouse named Rand was injured during the battle and put in Abigail's care.
Over the next few months, Abigail tracked down members of the Axe Army who were still loyal and organized several sabotages of different towns all over the Territories, including destroying stocks of food right before winter. Abigail personally destroyed Lockhaven's stocks of food, forcing several members of the guard to leave looking for more supplies. She also began poisoning Rand to make his injuries worse, slowly and painfully killing him.
Unfortunately for her, Rand discovered what she was doing and told some of the other guard mice. At this point, Abigail knew she would be executed for her crimes, and poisoned the well, thus poisoning the water supply. She was caught in the act and shot with arrows so that her body fell in the well.
