Abominations are minor antagonists in the Madness: Project Nexus duology, first appearing in stage [1.5-C]. They are crazed, deformed, mutated Nevadeans with several pieces of flesh cut from their bodies, making several of their muscles visible. Their arms are initially strapped to their torsos with belts, but when their health is reduced to half they break loose, allowing them to grab onto other characters.
At first, the Abominations attacked anyone who was not of their kind, such as Zeds, Nexus Core Agents, Nexus Riot Guards, Sleepwalker Patients, and Dr. Christoff. In the final level, Director Phobos regains control of the Nexus, causing the Abominations to focus their aggression solely on Dr. Christoff.
In MADNESS: Project Nexus, Abominations now have sharp teeth and claws to attack the enemies. The Abominations can leap to the enemies and grab them if they are very far from them.
History[]
It is believed that the Abominations are the failed version of the Sleepwalker Patients due to a lot of Subject 1v02P_6's memories overwritten them driving them insane.
Variations[]
Lamenters[]
Lamenters are Abominations charged with Dissonant Reality and having cybernetic enhancements. Unlike the standard Abominations, they don't have restraints.
Odiums[]
Odiums are large Abominations that have a tentacle replacing their left arm. They use it to attack enemies. When at a distance, they will either enrage and dash at their target, dizzying anyone that gets in their path, or jump in the air and slam into their enemy and anyone near them.
Mag Agent: Gestalt/Project Gestalt[]
Mag Agent: Gestalt, later known as Project Gestalt, is the magnified version of the Abomination. He can be encountered at the end of stage [1.5-C] and appears alongside two regular Abominations. He fights by either punching or body-slamming the player.
He initially appears to wear armor, but firing at him eventually tears it away to reveal a skeletal-like figure.
In MADNESS: Project Nexus, Project Gestalt was somehow revived and becomes the vessel of Phobos. He has a far bigger role, and serves as the game's primary antagonist for the most part. Several times it is chases for Hank, Sanford, Deimos and Cristoff, but unsuccessful. He also gets a new set of armor that makes him nearly invincible.
Wild Landers[]
Wild Landers are Abomination-like creatures that can be seen in an Arena Mode stage, The Haunting of Nevada House. They have a longer mouth which they use to attack. They may also use their claws to attack. When at a distance, they will sometimes enrage and charge at their target. If they catch their target, they will bite and shake around their target before throwing them away.
