The abusive father is the main antagonist of the Chick Tract Publications comic series Somebody Loves Me.
Biography[]
He was the father of an unnamed child (who is never clarified to be a boy or a girl) whom was given a task by his/her father to go out and beg for money, as they live in very poor conditions. It started to rain, and the child was denied money from any people who were passing by him. The child was finally shown kindness by an unnamed man, and he gives him/her a penny. The child then returns home to show his/her Father the money that he/she earned. Unsatisfied and infuriated with the one cent, the father pulls out a bat and beats his child with it to the point of bleeding as he continued to shout obscenities. He then throws him/her out, leaving him/her for dead.
The poor child went into a box in an alleyway, and he/she remained there until a paper flew over to him/her which stated that Jesus loved him/her. A woman comes by and tells him/her this, and then goes to get help for the child. After the child succumbs to the beatings, and dies in the alleyway, he/she is then taken to Heaven.
The abusive father's fate is unknown, but he most likely died and went to Hell sometime following the main story.
