~ The children upon realizing the player will take the Invocator for themselves. |
The adAkkaria Convention of Benevolence are a precursor race in the video game Stellaris along with other precursors, the long-extinct empires that existed prior to the rise of the player empire and all other empires in the current galaxy. Their story is told through various archeological sites and details a saga of an empire who fell into the delusion of spreading benevolence through the galaxy via the cosmic storms that occasionally ravage the galaxy.
In game, they are long extinct although they disappeared far later than precursors, with the signal the player empire detects being only around a thousand years old when compared to the tens of thousands or even millions of years in the past. Recovered documents from various archeological sites indicate that the adAkkaria were part of a pan-galactic union of empires, Unicom, or at least worked closely with the group. They were also a highly social race, with various episodes of reality shows, news interviews, and messages written between individuals showcasing the value of social bonds for the race. They were also in the midst of developing psionic powers, something that their society highly mistrusted as a reality show episode recovered hints at the ostracization of psionically gifted individuals.
Some time into their existence as an empire, they became increasingly disillusioned with Unicom and their interference with their "Enlightenment Corps" which came to a head when a supposed member known as the Solphani Authority ambushed their Enlightenment Corps, although Unicom representatives thoroughly deny the claim. In the end, the Convention were destroyed when they tried to perfect a device they called the Tempest Invocator using the souls of around forty psionically gifted children, including one who excitedly wrote that she could spontaneously light stuff on fire.
Trivia[]
- It is assumed that the Convention was guided towards their psionic paths judging by the mentions of "patrons." It is assumed that these "patrons" are the four Shroud entities.
- The adAkkaria are the most evil of the precursors so far, as while all involve some form of genocide or attempted genocide, the Convention stand out by using the souls of children to create the Tempest Invocator.
