Adam Smasher is a secondary antagonist in the video game Cyberpunk 2077. He is a employed by Arasaka.

Biography

Early life

Adam Smesher was an ordinary New York punk who joined the army after his gang was destroyed. After serving for several years, he was suspended for repeated violations of the charter, and then entered service under contract in New York.

The lack of disgust and sadistic meticulousness brought him enough work to always have: weapons, equipment, drugs and violent love affairs for one night. However, everything changed one day. During one of the sorties, a couple of rockets turned Adam into a meatloaf. His friends dragged what was left of him out of the zone and returned to the Big Apple. A mysterious corporate benefactor took note of this and made him an offer he could not refuse: corporate service in a metal body or death. Adam quickly agreed to the deal, since the thought of losing his humanity did not bother him.

Transformation

Seven years later, the new Adam Smasher, as a cyborg, made a name for himself on the East Coast. He agreed to almost any assignment, unless it was outright suicide or cheating. However, he had one condition: collateral damage and civilian casualties are mandatory. He began a quiet rivalry with Morgan Blackhend, viewing classic solo as a threat to his metal-better-than-meat worldview. Adam repeatedly tried to challenge him to a duel, but Morgan just ignored him. Naturally, this neglect only increased the cyborg's psychopathic rage.

Meanwhile, his secret benefactors have given him time to freelance. This changed with the war; Adam is now somewhat fully occupied with his patrons, who turn out to be a branch of the Arasaka security force.
