Addair is a major antagonist in Still Wakes the Deep, he was a deckhand on the Beira D. oil rig before beeing infected by the Shape and turned into a monster.
He is portrayed by Stewart Scudamore.
Biography[]
Addair is introduced as he rudely lets his colleague, Cameron "Caz" McLeary, know that he knows about his trouble with the authorities.
Shortly after that altercation, the rig comes into contact with a parasitic creature that spread throughout the infrastructure. He thus ordered another crewmate, Gibbo, to go fix the watertanks, however the tanks never got fixed as Gibbo was infected by the parasite before and could do anything.
Addair was infected, probably around the same time as Gibbo and wound up in the engineering section where he is encountered by Caz when he and Finlay tried to fix the generators. At this point, Addair had transformed into a monstrous being, constantly howling and occasionally speaking in his former voice, taunting Caz.
Later, when Caz and Brodie attempt to relight the flare to avoid the platform exploding, Addair reappears in the Processing Quad, lunging towards the gate of the elevator Caz was in to try and break through. Addair then stalks Caz until he manages to light the flare wich also sets Addair on fire, before he falls to his death in the North see.
Personality[]
Addair is portrayed as rude and unlikable as seen during his cafeteria talk with Caz but also from Gibbo's lines that reveal he insulted Gibbo to make him fix the water tanks. His infected lines, like "Scum all think they're better than me ... I'll fucking show 'em," reveal a deep-seated resentment and sense of inferiority. His complaints and mutterings, such as "Think of the money, just think of the money," and "Call the kids ... Don't forget ... to call the kids," suggest he is haunted by remnants of his former life and responsibilities.

Human[]
Addair wears a necklace and a white undershirt, complemented by an unzipped denim jacket featuring the Cadal logo on the right breast and back. The left side of his jacket is adorned with three badges, adding a personal touch to his uniform. He is bald, which accentuates his distinctive appearance.
Infected[]
In his infected form, his jaw is severely disfigured, and he is missing most of his body, including his torso and lower half, which have been replaced by a grotesque fleshy mass. This mass is covered with blister-like lumps, prominent white veins, deformed bones, an extra head on his left side (possibly from a victim), eyeballs, and several protruding arms, likely from individuals he killed and absorbed into his body. His nose is scrunched up and his forehead has minor wrinkles. Similar to the other infected individuals, Addair has appendages that help him navigate and grasp onto objects, adding to his horrifying transformation.
