Addictem is a minor villain in the 1980s cartoon, COPS, serving as the main antagonist of the episode, The Case of the Lowest Crime.
Biography[]
Addictem is a drug lord supplying Empire City with a drug called Crystal Twyst. Anyone who takes it turns into a Crystal Twyst head, a zombie-like state where they are obsessed with their next fix.
Addictem meets Buttons McBoomBoom, who is trying to rob a store, only to find all the cash gone. He tries to sell Crystal Twyst to Buttons, but Buttons instead takes him to Big Boss. However, Big Boss refuses to work with Addictem and throws him out on the grounds that "drugs kill."
Addictem is waiting for his next shipment of Crystal Twyst when Big Boss's nephew, Berserko, falls into a box while trying to steal Mayan gold and almost dies of an overdose. Big Boss and his men manage to get Berserko to the hospital and save his life, but many other Crystal Twyst users are not so lucky and are left hospitalized or in mental care. An enraged Big Boss teams up with COPS to take Addictem down.
Addictem refuses to give Crystal Twyst to an addict who cannot pay. In desperation, the addict breaks into a jewelry store and tries to use the jewelry (which he mistakes for Crystal Twyst) to get high. Addictem also tries to sell Crystal Twyst to two preteen girls, but they refuse and report him to the cops. Addictem tries to escape, but ends up in the hospital. He tries to take a nurse as hostage, but is attacked by Berserko, who has recovered and wants to beat him senseless. Addictem is arrested by the cops and sentenced to life in prison.
