~ Adler's last words, before his death as the Arkbird crashes. |
Adler is a minor antagonist in the video game Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War. He is a member of the Gray Men who took control of the Arkbird spacecraft in an attempt to conduct a nuclear attack on Yuktobania but was stopped by Razgriz Squadron.
Biography[]
Adler was one of the Gray Men who infiltrated the Arkbird's crew during the Circum-Pacific War. His superiors planned to prolong the war, and do achieve this, they planned to use Arkbird, employed by Osea, to conduct a nuclear attack on a Yuktobanian city of Okchabursk. As Adler headed for his destination, one Osean astronaut, John Harvard, sabotaged the spacecraft's controls and escaped in a capsule. By the time Adler regained control of the Arkbird, the Razgriz Squadron, thought to be eliminated, caught up to it and attacked it. After the Arkbird was severily damaged, the terrorists moved onto a contingency plan - detonating the weapon over Osean territory. As Adler redirected the Arkbird towards Osea, Razgriz Squadron destroyed its final engine, sinking it into the ocean and killing the Gray Men onboard, including Adler.
Trivia[]
- It's unclear if Adler is his legal name or just his codename.
- He shares his name with Adler Braun, a Belkan ace featured in the game Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War. Since Braun was killed years before the events of Ace Combat 5, this is only a coincidence.
