Adolf Hitler is one of the overarching antagonists of the Call of Duty franchise.
Just like his real-life counterpart, he is the Führer of Nazi Germany and the leader of the Nazi Party. He is also a genocidal tyrant who is responsible for the deaths of millions of Jews, who died in concentration camps and beyond.
While Hitler never physically appeared, he is only mentioned by several characters, such as Dr. Peter Straub. In addition, the Führer's influence and legacy can be seen in the actions of the Nazi forces and several German officers and generals, WWII, and the Holocaust.
Biography[]
Early Life[]
Nothing is known of Hitler's past, but it could possibly be the same as his real-life counterpart.
Call of Duty: Black Ops[]
Adolf Hitler was mentioned during the campaign mission Project Nova regarding the Nova-6 gas by Dr. Friedrich Steiner.
Call of Duty: WWII[]
Adolf Hitler was mentioned during the opening prologue of the game. Having unmatched ferocity, the Wehrmacht (referred to as "Hitler's war machine") launched their blitzkrieg against western Europe during their military campaign to conquer and annex the continent. He's also referred to as "Mr. Hitler" by one of the NPCs in the Battle of the Bulge campaign level.
Nazi Zombies[]
In a recording, Dr. Peter Straub, a Nazi scientist and creator of the undead, mentions that the Führer gave him and his staff the request to create a "soldier" who doesn't rest, fear, nor shy away from death. The "soldier" that would be created is actually an undead Nazi zombie, whom Straub mass produced, reanimated and controls with a mystical but dark, ancient, and enigmatic energy whom he calls Geiskraft, which stems from New Swabia, Antarctica and the lost city of Thule, which was ruled by The God-King.
During the events of The Darkest Shore, Hitler calls Dr. Straub from Berlin to come and rescue him, as the invading Red Army are closing in on the capital. During and following the events of The Shadowed Throne, Hitler was able to survive and he escaped from Berlin, though his current whereabouts after that is unknown.
Call of Duty: Vanguard[]
Near the end of WWII, Untensturmführer Hermann Freisinger conspires to stage a military coup and betray and murder Adolf Hitler so he could usurp power and become the new Führer, which is all part of a top-secret Nazi project codenamed Project Phoenix, in which Freisinger and several Nazi officials will establish a Fourth Reich, with Freisinger as its leader.
Later, prior to the Soviet Union's invasion of Berlin, Freisinger reveals to SS-Haupsturmführer Jannick Richter of Hitler's death, leaving Richter in shock. When asked if the Allies were responsible, Freisinger indicates that the Führer reportedly committed suicide. Now in despair, Richter states that without Hitler their now lost, to which Freisinger replies, "Hardly".
