The Advent Calendar is the unnamed titular antagonist of the 2023 YouTube short "Revenge of the Advent Calendar".
Appearance[]
While dormant, the Advent Calendar appears to be an ordinary advent calendar, as in a box with 24 small doors, numbered 1-24, each containing a single small chocolate in a festive shape. However, the box' front printing shows a bizarre image of a twisted, spindly humanoid creature with sunken eyes, a large smile, and elongated limbs, wearing a Santa outfit. Next to the figure is a slightly deformed snowman with a similar smile, and some curved simplistic Christmas trees behind it. Written on top of the box are the words "ADVENT CALENDAR", and between the figure's legs is the phrase "MERRY CHRUSTMUS".
The Advent Calendar's true form is a strange creature with rough, pink flesh, with a wide, lipless, permanently-smiling mouth lined with dozens of teeth. It bears no visible nose, but has two all-white, bulging eyes that protrude from two separate flaps of the calendar. Additionally, the Advent Calendar can extend multiple fleshy limbs from its back, taking the form of unnaturally long, thin arms with four-fingered hands. It is unknown if there is more to the creature's body.
Personality[]
The Advent Calendar is a being that appears to act as a guardian of the values of Christmas, namely that of the advent calendar, taking great offense whenever someone eats more than one of its chocolates per day and berating them for their gluttony. The calendar then takes great sadistic pleasure in mutilating the offender by ripping out parts of their bodies as if they were an advent calendar themselves, taunting them as it does.
Biography[]
The origins of the Advent Calendar are unclear, but at some point before December 1st, a human named Will had acquired it. On December 1st, as Will was working at his computer, he set the calendar down on a table and opened the first day's door, eating the chocolate from it. Liking the taste of it, Will went back to the calendar and opened the next day's flap and ate its chocolate, then the next day's, and then, after some hesitation, ripped open all but one of the calendar's flaps, number 24, quickly eating all the chocolates. As Will returned to his computer, the Advent Calendar awoke, shaking and standing upright, the creature within becoming visible from the open flaps. The Advent Calendar then called out to Will, berating him for prematurely opening its "festive flaps" and gorging himself on its chocolates in complete disregard of Christmas tradition. Will tried to apologize, but the Advent Calendar, enraged, shouted at Will for having no self control, and then menacingly declared that it would open Will early, making a chunk of Will's left arm open up like a calendar flap. Will nervously opened it, revealing a tree-shaped chunk of his flesh within, which the Advent Calendar extracted using an arm that grew out of its back, ignoring Will's protests as it ate the chunk. The Advent Calendar then said it would open another, revealing multiple flaps opening all over Will's arms and face, saying that as Will didn't care what day it was, the Calendar also wouldn't wait until the correct day, growing three more arms. With that, the Advent Calendar jumped at Will, opening a flap on Will's forehead, which led to his brain, intending to rip it out and kill Will. However, as it reached in, Will saw the still-closed 24th flap, and opened it, quickly extracting the last chocolate. Doing so somehow nullified the creature's power, making it scream in anguish as its limbs retracted, and the calendar then fell the floor, now fully sealed. Will, whose body was returned to its normal state, shrugged off the events and happily ate the last chocolate.
Powers and Abilities[]
- Calendar Manifestation: The Advent Calendar manifests, fittingly, within a Christmas advent calendar, and can freely manipulate it, allowing it to jump and stand. Additionally, it can create at least four spindly limbs that come out from the back of the calendar, and can stretch very far distances. However, it needs at least one chocolate within the calendar to stay manifested, as removing all the chocolates will seal it away again.

- Strength: The Advent Calendar's limbs, despite being thin, are strong enough to overpower adult humans, as seen when the Advent Calendar jumped on Will, who was unable to push it away as it held on.
- Biological Manipulation: The Advent Calendar can effectively convert humans into living advent calendars, making parts of their skin open up as square flaps with seemingly no pain to the victim. Under these flaps is a thin tinfoil covering over a plastic-like substance, which holds a chunk of the victim's flesh or organs, shaped like trees or other festive objects. This transformation can happen instantaneously without the Calendar needing to physically touch the victim or perform any visible actions, and can allow it to easily reach into the victims' bodies and tear out vital organs, such as their brains. However, if the Advent Calendar is sealed away, the victims' bodies will be returned to normal.
