The African Militia are the secondary antagonists of the 2011 video game Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. They are a group of Somali militants unleashing a reign of terror on the local populace. They are revealed to be associates of the Inner Circle, supplying chemical weapons to its leader Vladimir Makarov and his bomb maker Volk.
Biography[]
In the mission "Back in the Grid", the militia are in Sierra Leone scouting and torturing the local civilians. After the learn of the disavowed Task Force 141's presence, they began engaging them from all fronts. However, the three soldiers (John Price, John "Soap" MacTavish and Yuri) kill every one of the militants they encounter but are unable to stop them from sending Makarov's cargo.
In the mission "Return to Sender", the militia were attacked by Task Force 141 and several Russian Loyalists in Somalia, who were after their leader Waraabe. After they captured, interrogated and executed Waraabe for giving them information on Volk, the militia engaged the three to stop them from escaping the oncoming sandstorm. They successfully managed to shoot down Nikolai's helicopter just as the sandstorm hit, but they failed to kill both him and the 141 members who were extracted by the Loyalists and had then escaped. It is unknown what happened to the militia afterwards.
