The No. 48s are antagonists in the Hitman series. They are a group of amoral, mindless clones created by Otto Wolfgang Ort-Meyer who will do as commanded. Unlike sophisticated clones like Agent 47, they lack critical thinking entirely.
They appear as enemies in Hitman: Codename 47, posthumous characters in Hitman: Contracts, and one appears as an antagonist in Hitman: Agent 47.

History
Hitman: Codename 47
Ort-Meyer introduced the No. 48 clones in an effort to kill 47 as he made his way to the basement of the mental asylum. They all went to the scanner near their station in order to open the glass mechanical door, and to make their way to 47, wielding MP5 submachine guns. 47 canonically dealt with them with a minigun, as shown on the loading screen card. 47 then makes his way to Ort-Meyer by dragging a dead 48 to the scanner, and kills Ort-Meyer by shooting him and then snapping his neck.
Hitman: Contracts
Immediately after 47 kills off Ort-Meyer, the 48s are shown dead all over the basement, albeit not with their smiles as previously shown and instead wielding CZ2000 pistols.
Appearance
They appear identical to all other Ort-Meyer clones, like Agent 47 and Agent 17. They sport the same physical features, also with barcodes to accompany. They wear the same type of suit that 47 does. In Hitman: Codename 47, they will always have an evil smile, even when dead.
Trivia
- If 47 attempts to use his own barcode to enter the area exclusive to 48 clones, poison gas will be released instead of entry being granted.
- In the two missions they appears in during the games, there are 17 #48 clones in total. Agent 47 kills 11 of them in Codename 47 and six more appear dead in Contracts, having been killed by the insane asylum patients.
