Agent Stone is the main antagonist in Season 1 of the Peacock series Twisted Metal, based on the video game series of the same name.
After the world has fallen to chaos, Agent Stone is the leader of the Lawmen, a army of authoritarian law enforcers trying to bring law and order back to the wastelands. While his goal may be noble, Stone himself has long since completely abandoned dignity and fallen insane, establishing a brutal regime where any crime, no matter how harmless or small, is immediately punished with brutal execution. He was the driver of Outlaw and the archenemy of Quiet.
He was portrayed by Thomas Haden Church, who also played Roach in Tales from the Crypt Presents Demon Knight, Lyle Van de Groot in the George of the Jungle duology, Killer Moth in Teen Titans, Brooks in Charlotte's Web, Dwayne LaFontant in Over the Hedge, Sandman in Spider-Man 3 and Spider-Man: No Way Home, Tal Hajus in John Carter, Tazer in Aliens in the Attic and Quillgin in Regular Show.
Biography[]
Prior to the apocalypse, Stone was an enlisted police officer assigned to a mall in America. While uptight and awkward, Stone nonetheless worked to keep order and harmony and was seemingly committed to simply doing good. After The Fall, he witnessed society collapse around him, something that deeply affected him. As he saw the worst of humanity first hand, his view on the world worsened considerably, and he was frequently mocked and insulted, and at times even had his slipping kindness often taken advantage of. When informed by a neighbor that terrorists had taken over a restaurant, Stone went in to investigate, only to find they were just survivors trying to get by. However, the group then proceeded to relentlessly mock him, and in a fit of rage, Stone snapped and killed them all. It wasn't until after he came to the realization he accidentally killed a child as well. His psyche broken in horror at what he did, whatever good that was left in him died, and from that moment on the ruthless dictator was born.
Personality[]
Over 20 years ago, Stone was an affable if strict man simply trying to do his job; Keep the peace and protect the citizens. He would in time become increasingly frustrated with humanity, especially after the apocalypse and the world turned into a chaotic wasteland. One fateful day, after murdering a group of innocent (albeit extremely rude and cruel) people, and a child in the process, Stone lost his grip on his sanity and became a heartless, tyrannical dictator.
Firmly believing that the best way to prevent crime was to snuff it out before it could ever take root, Stone brutally enforced the law to the extreme. Every crime, no matter how small, was an offense punishable only by death, including, but not limited to, simply not picking up after your dog. He ruled Topeka and his outposts with an iron fist, and while he was more or less somewhat nice enough to his men, he expected absolute loyalty from them in return. Still, he was more than capable of immense displeasure and disgust with the ones who failed him. He was also capable of immense cruelty, forcing the siblings of Loud and Quiet to kill one of themselves so the other could live, and later branding Quiet out of spite and the hopes of perhaps changing her life for the better in his own delusional mind. Lastly he was an extremely vindictive and vengeful man, stopping at nothing to punish those who wronged him,
