Agent Willoughby is one of the two secondary antagonists (alongside Agent Mason) of the 2024 Paramount+ live-action/animated action-adventure miniseries Knuckles, which is part of the Sonic Cinematic Universe.
She was a military scientist who studied alien life. After the fall of Dr. Robotnik, Willoughby joined the Guardian Unit of Nations to combat extraterrestrials only to be demoted due to her extreme hatred towards aliens, thus quitting the organization and becoming a criminal, agreeing to hunt down Knuckles the Echidna for the Buyer.
She was portrayed by Ellie Taylor in her first villainous role.

Agent's Willoughby's origins are primarily shrouded in mystery. However, it is know that she previously worked for the United States Military as part of an organization that studies aliens. After Sonic the Hedgehog's energy knocked out power across the world, Willoughby hoped to protect the world from powerful extraterrestrials by joining the Guardian Unit of Nations, a special military organization created in response to the event. After the failure of Operation: Catfish and second defeat of Dr. Robotnik, G.U.N. decided to leave Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles be to live peaceful lives in Green Hills, Montana. However, Willoughby adamantly wanted G.U.N. to neutralize them instead, thus she was demoted to desk work due to her complaints. At some point after that, she agreed to kidnap Knuckles the Echidna and bring him to The Buyer.
Knuckles[]
Agent Willoughby and Agent Mason were seen at a G.U.N. headquarters. Willoughby hacked the computer transmitting information about Knuckles' whereabouts so that she was the only one who could track him. She then explained her backstory to a G.U.N. agent before pushing him through a ring portal to a cliff on the mushroom planet, possibly killing him. After The Buyer supplied the pair with some of his weapons, Willoughby and Mason went to the bowling alley Knuckles was at and proceeded to fight him. Knuckles held up his own but Willoughby was eventually able to catch him off guard, opening a ring portal underneath him and transporting him into a cage.
The agents arrive IceCap Ski Resort to meet The Buyer while Knuckles taunts them. She guards him while Mason fights Wade until he defeats him by using unorthodox tactics. Willoughby is knocked out by Wade, using one of Mason's gauntlets. Wade and Knuckles escape.
Willoughby and Mason soon met up with the Buyer in person, re-arming themselves after The Buyer agrees to give them another chance. They go after Wade's family. Tipped off by Wade's estranged father and bowling champion, Pistol Pete Whipple, the agents caught Wade's mother, Wendy and her daughter, Wanda and brought them to Pete's suite where the latter reveals to Wade of his betrayal. They threatened his family in order to capture Knuckles. However, Knuckles, through Wade's earphones, overhears their plan and he and Wade planned an ambush. A fight occurs between Knuckles and the agents while Wade frees Wendy and Wanda. Knuckles finally decided to put an end to it all, Willoughby shot two rings but Knuckles didn't fall for that trick again and hit the rings causing them to fly in opposite directions and the portals opened, the portals began to suck in what was nearby and attracted Willoughby and Mason, Knuckles managed to hold on to the ceiling, Mason held onto a piece of furniture and Willoughby grabbed Mason's legs, leaving them with a portal in front and one behind, Willoughby slipped and was sucked into the portal behind her, which amused Mason but then Willoughby was spit out of the portal in front of him, Willoughby collided with Mason which made Mason drop his gloves and they were both sucked into the portal behind them, then the portals attracted each other and closed, disappearing Willoughby and Mason forever and possibly killing them.
