Agni is a minor antagonist in the manga/anime series Record of Ragnarok and a minor character in its manga spin-off Record of Ragnarok Forbidden Legend - Apocalypse of The Gods.

He is a supporting antagonist in Shiva's Flashback during the Fifth Round and the Fifth Round of the Ragnarok Tournament.

Agni is the Hindu God of Fire and, when the Hindu Pantheon was divided into clans, an ally of Varuna with whom he lived together. After being defeated by Shiva and Rudra, Agni became a member of the assembled Hindu Pantheon as Shiva's subordinate.

He is voiced by Michael Benyaer, who has also voiced Shumbha always in Record of Ragnarok, Khaled Al-Asad in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Haras in Assassin's Creed: Revelations, M'Quve in Mobile Suit Gundam, Draza in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Tahir in Dying Light, in the English dubbed version of the anime adaptation. However, it is unknown who dubbed him in the Japanese dub.

Appearance[]

Agni is a huge God with a humanoid appearance, with red long hair and red beard that resemble tongues of fire. He has rings of orange fire covering his extremely muscular, dark pink-skinned upper body. The shape of his face and mouth resemble a demonic mask. He wears white bracelets and long blue trousers supported by a white band, and is barefoot.

Personality[]

Agni is a rather taciturn individual who rarely speaks. He is easily surprised, even if he knows how to analyze situations well, and always accepts challenges. He becomes fond of Shiva after the latter becomes the leader of the Hindu Gods. If needed, Agni also supports other Hindu Gods, such as Indra during the Apocalypse Tournament.

Biography[]

Agni is the Hindu God of Fire who, when the Hindu Pantheon was divided into clans, lived with Varuna. One day Shiva and Rudra decide to try to climb to the summit of Svarga to make Rudra King of the Hindu Gods, and after defeating several Hindu Gods they end up facing Agni e Varuna. While Varuna is defeated by Shiva, Agni faces Rudra and is ultimately defeated by his opponent. In the end, Shiva defeats Rudra, who abandons the Svarga immediately after, and becomes the King of the Hindu Gods before all the other Hindu Gods including Agni.

Millennia later, following the proclamation of the Ragnarok Tournament, Agni and the other Hindu Gods attend from the stands at the matches of the Apocalypse Tournament, a competition between 16 Gods, in which Indra also participates, where the winner would take the last place in the Gods Fighters, the representatives of the Gods during the Ragnarok Tournament, and could have created a new law for the Constitution of Valhalla.

Some time later, during the Ragnarok Tournament, Agni and the other Hindu Gods find Rudra in the stands of the arena during the Fifth Round and, together with him, witness the fight of their leader Shiva against Raiden Tameemon, seeing Shiva emerge victorious after having unleashed the Tandava Karma. At the end of the Fifth Round, Agni and the other Hindu Gods reach Shiva in a state of disrepair in the corridors and, here, they see Shiva admit to Zeus that he now considers Humans fantastic.

While Shiva is hospitalized in the infirmary to repair the three arms cut during the Fifth Round and follows the other matches of the Ragnarok Tournament, Agni and the other Hindu Gods go to visit him to make sure he is well.

Powers and Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: Agni is one of the strongest Hindu Gods of all, although he is inferior to Shiva, Rudra and Indra. As a God, Agni possesses physical abilities far greater than those of any ordinary Human. His body cannot be damaged by mortal weapons, however it can still be damaged by unarmed attacks by individuals with superhuman strength and by Divine Weapons. Furthermore, Agni cannot die due to old age.

Pyrokinesis: Being the God of Fire, Agni is able to control it without any problems. In fact, Agni is able to create rings of fire which he uses to cover his upper body.
