Ahura Mazda is a major antagonist in the manga Record of Ragnarok Forbidden Legend - Apocalypse of The Gods, a spin-off of the manga/anime series Record of Ragnarok.

Ahura Mazda is the Zoroastrian God of Creation and the Sky, as well as a Chief God and the King of the Zoroastrian Pantheon. He is also one of the 16 Gods who participate in the Apocalypse Tournament to win the last place in the Gods Fighters of the Ragnarok Tournament and the possibility of creating a new law in the Constitution of Valhalla.

Appearance[]

Ahura Mazda is a God with a humanoid appearance and literally divided in half: a lighter one on his right and a darker one on his left. The light side has light skin, long dark hair, closed eye, and normal teeth. The dark side has dark skin, veins all over the face, long light and spiky hair, open eye, and sharp teeth.

He wears a long cloak with large shoulders that have two circles in the center, one smaller above and one larger below, with Zoroastrian symbols, filaments on the arms and legs which are dark on the right side and light on the left side, boots and some kind of metal shorts with a chain instead of a buckle and in the center there is a lock.

Personality[]

Ahura Mazda is a very proud God who does not accept being considered inferior to anyone, alluding to possible mistakes if it happened, and becoming very angry if his suspicions were confirmed. However, he also knows how to be a profiteer, trying to exploit all the opportunities that come his way.

Biography[]

Ahura Mazda is the Zoroastrian God of Creation and the Sky, and the King of the Zoroastrian Pantheon.

After the proclamation of the Ragnarok Tournament, Ahura Mazda participates in the meeting of the Gods' Council in which Zeus announces the Gods Fighters that would fight in the Ragnarok Tournament representing the Gods. Ahura Mazda, not noticing his name on the list, asks Zeus if there was a mistake, but Zeus denies it and this angers both Ahura Mazda, who believes Zeus thinks he is inferior to the Gods Fighters, which the other Gods did not choose. However, they are all stopped by Sun Wukong, which makes everyone notice that a name is missing from the list. That's when Zeus announces the Apocalypse Tournament between 16 Gods to win the last place in the Gods Fighters and the possibility of inserting a new law into the Constitution of Valhalla.

Ahura Mazda also participates, and his opponent in the Round of 16 will be Sengo Muramasa.

Powers and Abilities[]

Overall Abilities: As a God, Ahura Mazda possesses physical abilities far superior to those of any ordinary Human. His body cannot be damaged by mortal weapons, however it can still be damaged by unarmed attacks from individuals with superhuman strength and Divine Weapons. For the same reason, Ahura Mazda is unable to die due to old age.

Trivia[]

  • Zoroastrian Religion, headed by Ahura Mazda, was the religion practiced in Arab countries before the advent of Islam. In some communities Zoroastrianism is still practiced.
  • The double face of Ahura Mazda in Record of Ragnarok represents the dichotomy between good and evil that characterizes the Divinity.
    • With this appearance, Ahura Mazda is very reminiscent of Two-Face, one of Batman's main enemies.
